Most definitely it is and looking at news reports of the celebrations i suggest that a few million Libyans disagree with you .The buildings can be rebuilt ,the dead people tortured and murdered for having the wrong ideas and thoughts cannot be bought back from the dead

Nor indeed can any of the dead from this conflict.

I don't give a hoot about them.

I am more interested in this country being able to defend itself should we no longer have our forces operational. It would not take long for the liberal democrats to start pushing to cut our forces even more than they are now if they saw that we are no longer involved in any operational requirements. The problem now is they have some power so have more of a chance of cutting the armed forces down.

The bodies of 53 Gaddafi loyalists have been found at a hotel in the Libyan city of Sirte after apparently being executed, a human rights group says.

I did hope the retaliation would end at the beatings and arson spoken of the other day, just hope it's not the start of post Saddam Iraq MKII.

An update.

Colonel Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam has been captured, officials from Libya's interim government have said.
Saif al-Islam was arrested near the town of Obari in the south of the country, the officials said.
The former leader's son is the last key member of the Gaddafi family to be captured or killed.

Great the last remnants of a despot family finally consigned to history and lets hope a new more civilised democratic Libya emerges in the next few years.

Well if you have a chance to choose between the Devil and a chance to have a more civilised Democratic society in Libya then l would choose the second choice every time

The choices aren't limited to 2 options, there are already reports of punishment beatings and armed gangs roaming the country dealing out retribution to anyone suspected of being a sympathiser and the new boss has already said what ever type of "democracy" Lybia ends up with will be Sharia based.

Yes you could well be right but remember in the aftermath of the toppling of Colonel Gaddafi and his regime there was always going to be a degree of this in the days and weeks after so we just have to hope this dies out the more Libya moves towards a civilised democratic goverment.
