Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
To get a text (on a Saturday) from the NHS to state I have an appointment on the Monday. An appointment that I have no knowledge about and there's no way of finding out what it is till Monday. Very annoying.
A lot of serious stuff is going on at the mo, so this just makes me even more anxious than normal. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Did the text make any reference to a location?
I sometimes get a recorded message stating time/location for Monday apps as in your case. Hope you manage to calm down and the tests are favourable. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Normally I do get either the recorded messages, press 1 if attending etc, and if that failes it then goes to the landline, other times such as this I just get a text message. Though they are handy, I think might ask to stop these texts if that's possible as it's not the first time it's happened. And thank you, I am trying to forget about till Monday at least. It's probably test results as got treatment / ops already planned hence this unwanted stress on top. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
When it is the recorded message, the option to opt out of receiving messages is included within the message.

I mean FFS this statement should be banned, if you try this at home the gene pool doesn't need you. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Just what I need, my dental crown has just fell out. I dread to think how much this is going to cost hopefully it won't be that much. On a plus side I have managed to get a appointment tomorrow at 09:15 as they just had someone cancel a appointment. On a funny note when I told hubby he did not even know that I had a crown and when he asked how long I have had it I simply replied more years than I care to remember ;)
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I wouldn't have thought it would be that much unless you have to have a new crown. Are you NHS or Private?
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I'm one of the lucky one's I'm NHS. I don't think it should be that much as I reckon it just needs to be set back in place, don't think I need a new crown.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
From my experiences l don't think you will need a new crown weenie.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Thank den and I'm in agreement with you, I'm hoping it just needs to be secured back in.
|
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Over the years my wife has had 3 crowns fitted, 2 have come loose and had to be re secured but eventually the teeth had to be extracted due in part to the tooth braking up.

Tooth fixed and was only charged £9.04 now that's good IMO. |

I have a good dentist, bug so far all I need is clean and polish. I am quite lucky,

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I think my moan / hate of the day is people who assume I'm some kind of idiot because I don't agree with them.
No, it just means I'm not agreeing with you - not that I'm stupid or anything. If you don't know me ASK. I very rarely withheld information about myself. Quite frankly nuts to you (you know hwo you are)! |

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
Scam calls...
Just got one of them scam calls about the accident I was in  first I've heard LOL anyway I asked them who they were and in fact I believe this to be a scam call and illegal not to mention that I'm actually on the TPS service. The gentleman said it was not illegal and I simply replied I think you have the wrong information as I am in fact a Lawyer then they hung up rather quickly, which was a pity as I was enjoying being a pretend Lawyer in regards to my pretend accident. I do hope they phone back as that was quite fun and has made my day tbh :D |

It's a shame the call didn't proceed further. I wonder what sort of accident you had? :p |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8
I had one of those calls a month or so ago, and I strung them along. They were going they could get me lots of money for my injury. Until I said, oh and will driving without a licence affect my claim. They went quiet, said repeat please. I took great pleasure in telling them that I have never driven as my sight isn't good enough for driving. Swear he said a rude word as he hung up...

Reminds me of a rather wierd scam call I got a few months back. I had a call on my Landline from "Barking Police Station" claiming they'd picked up one of my cousins trying to use my bank card. Sounded quite legit and they had my name. When I asked which cousin it was, they gave me a name I didn't recognise, and while I am certain none of my cousins would have taken my card, I do know people who would nick it, and would have probably given my name if they'd have been picked up. So, I checked my wallet and sure enough, all the cards were there. I said they could just send it to my local Police station and I'd pick it up. They said they couldn't, so I said I needed to phone the bank. They said OK, but to call back later. I called my bank (from my mobile), spoke to their security department who said they had never heard of this, but it was probably an attempt at fraud, and I should monitor my account for a few days. Nothing came out. Of course, I never called back (in fact, I unplugged the phone, plugged it back in again and dialled the speaking clock to check it). I never heard anything from them again. |

250 quid blimey, mind you any Omega is pretty serious money.
I bought a Vostok Amfibia (the legendary Russian diver watch) for 50 quid and it's an amazing bit of kit for the money. It'll probably cost more to service than it cost new ;) |

I've been trying to contact the DWP for several days now to have our Income Support stopped (pensions and therefore relative poverty start soon).
Out of frustration I visited the local office this morning, but was told I needed to make an appointment "sometime next week". And I have to phone to make the appointment!! |

@ Taf Good Luck with getting an appointment I hope it's sooner rather than later. |

Neighbour modified their plans, applied for an extension and it was all done quietly, didn't find out until day after public consultation had finished. Got approved last week, found out today and I am fuming. Same objections apply as the previous application.

If those are things people moan about then they should count themselves lucky.
I'm finding it quite hard to moan these days in the grand scheme of things. Saying that being this way changes the way you are and how you put up with others. |

I need to leave my job,.
The other week a guy at work in the Wheel bay (we are talking C-130 wheels here about 4-5ft high) had a second heart attack, but want to come back to work. A guy in the electrical department is on a ventilator with suspected pneumonia. a 3rd guy is in Moorfield Eye Hospital, and unlikely to be back for a few weeks. |

Mine is my sudden intolerance to eggs. Never had a problem with them, then suddenly after Christmas developed an intolerance to them. Cut eggs out of my diet, and I feel fine. Trouble is, I love eggs. What I'd give for some scrambled eggs right now, but not worth it for the discomfort I am in after eating them.
