God help Spurs, if they beat Sheffield. Chelsea, done everything possible to batter Liverpool with stamping, and thumping players.

And yet, Mourinho was complaining about HIS players getting rough treatment from the ref.

Costa, should have walked TWICE. He did his best to foul every Liverpool player. And the stamping. My god what is football about.

Its about time, we had a fourth official who had the bottle to step in and tell the referee about these things.

Chelsea do not rule football. The officials are scared of them. Dirty players

I really like Costa, one of those players that will always put in 100%, gets stuck in and has the talent to back it up. He reminds me of Roy Keane, rival fans hate him but not one wouldn't want him in their team.

The question is, where the legs there when he started to put his foot down? Although I haven't seen these particular incidents, it does annoy me when players are penalised when the other player wasn't there when they started their movement.

Appeals tomorrow, so even if he loses and gets another game added on for a "Frivolous" appeal, he'll still be ok for the final. Think violent conduct is only a three match ban.

You don't think west brom paid a fee for lukalu a couple of seasons back for instance?

I forgot to reply earlier, sorry Dad. Can't find anything about a loan fee from Everton, or West Brom before them, and I didn't think we got one anyway. You normally hear if one's involved. I don't really disagree with regards to what you said about the youth players. But I'd like to have some sort of age restriction on overseas youngsters coming in. That's another thing that restricts opportunities.

Chelsea v Man City - BPL - appeal
Aston Villa v Chelsea - BPL
Chelsea v Everton - BPL
PSG v Chelsea - UCL - void
Chelsea v Burnley - BPL
Leicester City v Chelsea - BPL - Postponed
Tottenham v Chelsea - Capital One League Cup Final

A 4 match ban which is likely would mean he misses the final.

Why should Diego Costa not be my role model? Growing up I was drawn to Mark Hughes, Bryan Robson, Norman Whiteside. As a Manchester United fan in the 1990s my hero would have been Roy Keane, not for his technical ability, over Ronaldo or Scholes, but for the impact his type of player has on the game-going fan, by showing that fight and passion are alive and well in the dressing room.

What is being got at is the fight in the game cannot be diluted to a state that it will destroy the very game we all love. As an Arsenal fan for the past decade we've seen plenty of a lack of fight and its pathetic. Had the whole game been the same then the stadiums would have been empty. I don't agree with pure evil malicious acts but then I don't agree with a pathetic form of football!

It wasn't thuggery though was it. I still think its unclear whether he actually meant it, at no point did he look down at where his leg was, his eyes were on the ball the entire time. I don't think you claim he went out to hurt the Liverpool player. Like Neville said in his piece, hes the type of player defenders hate to play against...what an asset that is for a team to have. Theres no team in the world that wouldn't put up with his occassional over aggression to have a player like him in their side.

That sounds young to me!!!

On a serious note I didn't realise he was quite 25, but he's hardly past it either, is he, and he's a really really decent player. I don't know about third choice at Chelsea, but let's face it - if you have a player as good as Azpilicueta you play him, even if he is really a right back.

Perhaps I should have said two of the best full backs in the country, but they are well up there and Southampton should still be well chuffed with their business.

I meant he sounded young because I'm older than that, but I agree with Den's point - some of the top clubs have a habit of stockpiling young talent, often to their detriment.

Having said that, when you consider loans he's actually made over 200 appearances.

Being on loan is different from playing regularly for a parent club for a variety of reasons but loan is preferable to development squad football any day. I really hope young players resist the urge to join mega rich clubs for the sake of their careers, Scott Sinclair agrees and he should know better than most

Yes bought for £15 million but rarely played in more then a handful of games.

All the blame lies squarely in the shoulders of ******* agents.

And those leeches sadly still infest our game.

I actually think he got pretty lucky, he didn't waste that much time on the sidelines and spent most of his time loaned to his old club where he knew the surroundings, his team mates, training regimes, coaching staff etc it could've been worse for him plus palace have done very well out of it to!!

In an ideal world we'd just legislate them out of the game, if players want representation what's wrong with the pfa handling negotiations, it's what Gary Neville did and he's hardly in the poor house

Well we only got £10m up front, he obviously never did enough to allow us to get the add ons that would have taken it to 15. We've paid £3m to get him back, rising to £6m, which in our team he'll probably manage. So United are only £4m down until you factor in loan fees from us and Cardiff and realise they probably broke even.

What we're left with is a fantastic academy product who already knows that the grass isn't greener so we should do alright out of it but it might not have gone that way, and for what? If our chairman hadn't fought for him he'd be yet another poor United signing discarded early. Fortunately for him we've made sure that didn't happen and provided him again with the chance of a career. He is indeed the lucky one.

Just look how long it took Routledge to get his career back on track after Spurs turned his head. I hope Zaha is an object lesson to all our young kids.

There's been so many object lessons for them, we have one called Reece Oxford that's being courted over and over before he's even old enough to sign an adult contract, fortunately it seems like he has seen sense and will sign with us but what's the point of the club training and developing his talent for him to be tapped up and stolen for peanuts.

Find myself in the pretty awful position of wanting a Liverpool win. Only side in the bottom half to win today so far.

What on earth was going on here then?

Re: Football Season 2014/15

Quite. MacArthur and a Leicester player were involved in a challenge in front of the dugouts, which resulted in them both tripping over each other. MacArthur bundled into Pearson and knocked him over. It looked like they were initially laughing with each other, but then Pearson appeared to be holding MacArthur down with both hands around his (MacArthur's) neck. After MacArthur managed to free himself and stand up Pearson held on to his arm/shirt for a few seconds preventing him from returning to the pitch.

The game was ongoing for the entire incident.

Not sure what to make of it, but I expect there to be some action taken against him.

Leicester had a lot of possession and a few chances but they are really prone to errors at the back, don't appear to have anything close to an actual striker and their manager looks like he's let the pressure of it all really get to him. They're down - two to go. Southampton's late winner was very welcome!

Its surprising that the BBC don't mention a thing on their website about the incident.

How the hell did vanpersie not get sent off for that filth?
