Joy bells are ringing,
The songs birds are singing,
And ev'ryone's happy and gay.
Dull days are over,
We'll soon be in clover,
So pack all your troubles away.

The sun has got his hat on
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
He's coming out today.

Now we'll all be happy,
Hip-hip-hip-hooray!
The sun has got his hat on,
And he's coming out today.

Base on this years channel launches Virgin Media can only launch three channels or channels from one broadcaster per day.

http://mediaboyblog.blogspot.co.uk/p...2012-last.html

I have found that Tuesday and Thursday are good launch days.

Media Boy has still to get any new channels maybe coming this week confirmed.

Good times I look forward to this week even if nothing does happen my heart is beating fast again and my bleak pointless existence has relevance again.

Do your insiders know anything media boy or is it all quiet on the virgin media front?

That may have been their practice recently, Media Boy, but I shouldn't think that there are any technical limitations. Back in the NTL days, we received all the new Sky Movies channels at once and more recently, when the Sky basics were returned, I am sure these all came back at the same time, together with the Sky Arts channels that we did not have before.

I am braced now for all the missing Sky channels to be launched on Virgin Media pretty soon now and I think they will all arrive together.

So why does Sky Atlantic not feature on the list of channels we don't have that broadcast in the uk? I confess to not understanding that part of your September update.

It's the Forum behind the Forum where all the good gossip and info is. All the juicy info is shared via PM between a chosen few. I know because sometimes I'm in and about the info too :D

I wasn't disputing your info , Fox International channels is part of the newly formed 21st Century Fox , I was merely stating the partnership was initially between Nat Geo and BSKYB , BSKYB's share was bought by Fox International channels part of 21st Century Fox.

I still think something is in the wind - due to Bid Plus being remove from Virgin Channel 746 last night.

Still nothing has been confirmed.

As I have been saying for months

-Renumber all Entertainment channels plus remove all HD Channels.
-Put Entertainment HD channels starting from Channel 201.
-Move Factual to Channel 261 or 361.
-Move Lifestyle to Channel 261 or 361.

Base on info I got from an Virgin viewer some weeks ago yes.

An other viewer told me today - some Sky channels will launch sooner rather then later.

Broadcastnow has confirmed that Virgin are in talks with Sky for more channels but nothing has been confirmed yet from any of my insiders.

Looking forward to tomorrow now, the prospect of remaining SKY Sports channels in HD and to a lesser extent, Atlantic.

And a friend was wondering, why do none of the adult channels broadcast on Virgin? I told him he can pay for the likes of Adult Channel, etc but he wants the ones where you call and speak to them for around £10 a minute.

Saw an interesting article on broadcastnow.com

Sky are trialing ULTRA HD (UHD).This is also known as 4K and is 4 x better than HD . Will need a new TV as well.

We may well get some HD stuff from them but it maybe wont be long before Sky bring out a UHD service to replace it and so the cycle goes on.

I'm totally the opposite. I'm a recent adopter, joined 2 weeks ago, and I'm totally amazed at the range available for £5.99 per month.

In terms of Boxsets, Netflix is amazing. My wife and I are currently enjoying The Tudors, House of Cards, Breaking Bad, Prison Break, Dexter and 24 from the very start.

I've also been impressed by the amount of films they've picked up that will air before, or will never air on SKY Movies like Lawless, The Hobbit, The Expendables 2 and How I Spent My Summer Vacation.

If you can't afford SKY Sports and SKY Movies, Virgin will soon be offering up a real alternative. BT Sports included at no extra cost in the XL package with access to Netlix for £5.99 per month. Who knows, maybe those on XL and VIP may be able to get access to Netflix cheaper!

BT Sports in XL plus Netflix on TiVo is game changing. Well done Virgin Media

SKY would be mad to allow Virgin to have SKY Atlantic and the rest of the missing HD channels now. SKY have some real competition on their hands. Must admit, my days as a SKY customer look numbered unless they can come up with something sensational in the next 90 days. The countdown to contract expiry is on.........

Maybe an deal has been signed or is days away from for all we know.

The story I saw some weeks ago says that Sky want an carried deal for Sky Bravo to be on Virgin Media signed before Sky confirmed an launch date for Sky Bravo. Maybe Sky need to resell SKY Atlantic to Virgin to get money to help pay for SKY Atlantic and also that overpay Football deal for 116 games.

Quote:

It is understood that the launch of the channel is likely to be put on the back burner, in the short term at least, as it has not managed to gain a distribution deal to air in Virgin Media's 4 million-plus households.

Personally as a SKY customer I think Virgin have done tremendously well since the turn of the year to close the gap on SKY. There is not too many worthwhile channels missing from Virgins line-up. Ultimately it all depends what you are looking for.

BT Sports 1, BT Sports 2 and ESPN being added to XL at no extra cost is great for the sports fans. Plus it's multiroom and accessible via Virgin Anywhere.

As I SKY customer I had to pay £15.00 registration fee, pay £15.00 per month and can't watch the channels in my bedroom. I have to pay a separate monthly subscription to BT, which is a pain in the ass, and I can't watch the channels as part of SKY Go.

Here is a list of recent additions by Virgin. There are a few other channels I've missed:

ITV2 HD
ITV3 HD
ITV4 HD
TLC
TLC HD
TLC+1
BBC Two HD
Quest+1
DMAX+1
More4+1
CBS Drama
H2
Animal Planet HD
Investigation Discovery
Investigation Discovery+1
Animal Planet +1
Discovery Science +1
Discovery History +1
Style
Discovery Home & Health +1
Vintage TV
TCM HD
TCM 2
Eurosport 2HD
France 24 English
NHK World TV
Al Jazeera English
Cartoon Network HD
Zee Café
Zing
France 24 French
ARY News UK
Sony SAB
Rishtey
UMP Movies
Al Jazeera Arabic
The Africa Channel
Ginx
Drama
Nickelodeon HD
BT Sports 1
BT Sports 1 HD
BT Sports 2
BT Sports 2 HD
ESPN
ESPN HD

SKY still have the wider channel selection, but most channels are terrible. In terms of an overall TV, Broadband and Phone experience Virgin are starting to edge SKY in my humble opinion.

Never really had a problem with this personally. I did however lose all TV service via Virgin Media TiVo a couple of times, once for 2 days, whilst their network was down. Scottish Gas dug up one of Virgins cables in error

The lesson is, regardless of TV provider, it's good to have Freeview built in to your TV just incase :D

The BBC have picked up the Netflix story:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-24024364

"The BBC understands that Virgin may offer Netflix as part of a bundled service."

It looks like Netflix may become part of XL?

BT Sport and Netflix in XL, that would be huge. SKY will be watching this very closely.

It looks like Virgin might be building a cost effective Sport and Movie offering to rival the expensive premium services on offer from SKY.

As stated earlier if Netflix does go into XL, SKY would be mad to give up their exclusive channels to Virgin. If Virgin get access to SKY Atlantic and some of the missing HD channels, why would anyone choose SKY? **

** I mean anyone who lives in a cabled area that can choose between both services.
