Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish had a stern warning for his players after their 3-1 defeat at Bolton.

The Reds were 2-0 down after 29 minutes and Dalglish said: "I don't think the approach was correct. I don't think the way we went about our work was correct.

"If that's the level they expect this football club to play at, they won't be here long.

Someone who finally says it how it is, Kenny is just an average manager at a big club living on his own reputation and hype.

Ah, that would explain it. Thanks for replying. I assumed at first that it might have been a late tribute for the cruise ship accident, but when no other team were wearing them then I assumed it was something to do with either Wolves or Villa.

Just looking at the slow motion again, at the exact time of the stamp the ref isn't looking.

Not as goos as the first game but probably a fair result.

Glory hunting? what when basics aren't even done at Arsenal by Wenger? Nothing toxic about wanting perfection.. most of the ex Arsenal greats want that! nothing wrong with fans being annoyed at whats gone on considering the position the club is in.. we're not a dire, on our knees business.

I tell you what is toxic.. blowing smoke which will carry on aiding neglect. Neglect is what got the club in this mess.

And just a little side note.. toxic is whats bank rolling the club.. those who pay premium fees to support the club.

You can add the majority of the PremierLeague to that list. If it had been a wolves player that had kicked/stamped someone there would be minimal reaction but because it's Manchester City and Balotelli that did it, it has the Joey Barton effect.

There is no excuse for booing one of your own players as they are coming on. It was 1 - 1 against Manchester United at that point!! It's pathetic. As is the utter lack of respect for Wenger shown by the fans who have started horrible chants directed at him. 13 years of service, one of our greatest managers, and he is subject to that!

As far as I am concerned they are not supporters. The season ticket waiting list is still packed, plenty more where they came from. Maybe ones who will support the club.

Honestly speaking I didn't hear the crowd boo'ing Arshavin, I though it was all aimed at the decision to take Ox off.

I haven't heard the chants. There are certain things that could be said but your reaction isn't in the slightest bit positive so I take it their over the top?

I can neither fully disagree or agree with your last statement. The supporters have a voice, many of them saw certain players not up to par yet Wenger continued to ride it out. He's now in a position where he has to sell the flops to reduce the payroll before buying. He's got himself into a full on mess, he himself knows it thats why he's sticking around to fix it or he would have resigned by now.

There are certain things Wenger can still do to get the most out of this squad but it seems as though he's 1, fixated on this formation 2, doesn't want to stamp his authority on those who are not performing because it may ruin their confidence, ooo boo hoo.. its fine for them to rob the club then?! and 3 an all round wake up call.

You can't demoralize the squad but you can't blow smoke either.

MalteseFalcon 23-01-2012 12:41

Re: Football Season 2011/12

I was a supporter of Arsenal for several years but the negativity of several fans made me angry so I stopped following them as my main team. I do think there are a few things that Arsenal need to address before they can become title challengers again.

1. Force Wenger to look for a new goalkeeper. Whilst the current selection of goalies (Szcesney, Mannone and Almunia) are good, they are still prone to making some big mistakes in big (and small) games. I think they have never recovered from Lehman and Seaman leaving/retiring.

2. Ditto the defence. They are good, but like the goalies make mistakes that lead to conceded goals and/or losses. For me, the defence has never been as good since the invincible season or since the best defence retired.

3. Walcott needs to be taken aside and told to stop being selfish and to listen to instructions. Capello had it right when he said Walcott wasn't taken to South Africa because he wouldn't follow instructions. I'm all for players being individuals and doing their own thing on the pitch, but when they don't listen to what the manager says then they need to be dropped for a while til they learn to listen.

4. Whilst I disagree with the fans that Wenger needs to be sacked, I do agree with the fact he needs to invest in 1 or 2 big current stars to kick start the team. I'm not saying spend stupid amounts on players, but maybe offer Swansea some money for Vorm, or even Newcastle for Krul. Both are having good seasons this season.

And the fans who boo players, I agree that they are not true fans of the club. I simply chose not to have them as my main club because those fans made it impossible for me to remain calm and not losing my temper with them.

Szcesney is really good, and well rated and liked by Arsenal fans (and Pundit). He won't be replaced. Especially given the fact he is so young so has years and years to go.

Everyone is quick on the Balotelli case eh.

United fans - Roy Keane, He's a bigger knobhead than the Gallaghers from Oasis
Chelsea - Drogba
Arsenal - Thierry Henry

All proven to be dirty players yet most think the sun shines out of their backside.

There are players out there that have done far worse than Balotelli but again because it's the club at the top of the league it's suddenly a national crisis.

Not to sure about Henry or Drogba and what they have done that compares to Balotelli.

Drogba dives but isn't a dirty player, Henry did one handball to get his country into a World Cup. Ballotelli consistently rants and fouls and people now watch him to see him make a 'mistake', its that certain to happen.

Yeah he is, he's been the most unprofessional, arrogant player the game has seen in 30 years. Remember him mouthing off on Sky News? And the worst thing is Balotelli seems to want to out-do him. The sooner they're both out of the Premiership the better.

In other news....******* Cardiff.....:grind:

Batocheati might leave the UK as he feels victimised? Well if you get 16 yellows and 4 red you can NOT be a victim.

I'll pay towards his plane ticket.

So if I have this correct, they should all be punished with bans and so on,

So if he's the dirtiest player around he should be right up there if I compare bookings over a 2 season period.

Funny thing that, Tiote is above him.. In fact

Charlie Adam
Ivanovic
Paul Scholes
Gareth Barry
Scott Parker
Barton
Ashley Young
Vidic
Drogba
Torres

Just a short list of players that were booked more than Balotelli. Then again that's last season so what if he's been a really bad boy this season.

Seems once again he is nowhere near the top

Barton once again is up there along with Ashley Cole and John Terry. Gareth Barry taking the cake.

Bellamy has been booked a lot more than Balotelli.

It seems we are going to need a lot of planes and fines as well as lifetime bans then. :dunce:

Good perhaps we should give life bans to persitant dirty players, and make the game cleaner.

Justice.

:D I bet Batocheati wishes he didn't stand on Parkers head now, as the out come might have been different.

Lets hope Spurs or Utd beat City now :)

Madrid got it to 2-2 on the night and lost 4-3 over the two legs. Madrid were by far the better team tonight, but more poor refereeing cost them. Ramos was wrongly sent off and they had a perfectly good goal disallowed amongst other decisions.

Dilemma: do I want to see a Welsh club winning the League Cup even though it's Cardiff? I don't want to see the Scousers win it but this is Cardiff we're talking about.

Well there are several reasons for that like certain owners who are in football for short term financial gains but one of the main reasons is that many clubs live beyond their financial means and pay fees and salarys which they can't really afford to start with but pay out in the hope of bringing success to the club but when this fails then they find that the financial rewards which their plan was based upon then fails totally with it thus they are then left to pick up the financial mess when things go wrong.
