I have just noticed something on the newly changed page for TiVo? When you look at the App's page it has the BBC I-PLAYER, YOU TUBE, E.T.C but it is also showing FLICKR as well ( It is in the box with Picasa and Facebook?).

Not sure it has been mentioned before?

Agreed.

I don't know if they intend to add to the actor's film/tv appearances data, but thy're not complete ATM.

Haven't been reading this post for a while but just wanted to add that I got my TiVo box installed yesterday and first impressions are positive. I was flicking through the TV guide and saw 'Game On' listed somewhere on the previous night's TV and clicked on it, then clicked a few more buttons and whilst there weren't any editions available to watch, it took me through to YouTube, automatically searched for it and I watched an episode from there.

Not bad I thought.

And for once I wasn't thinking about the mid-twenties Samantha Janus when I thought that.

She'll always be Mandy Wilkins as far as I'm concerned :)

Has any one noticed any programmes ending early the BBC I-PLAYER APP as some over here have? Also if you have will you post so that they are able to look at the problem. I have already posted about one that stopped early?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 2

Just got TiVo installed yesterday. So far no problems (Picture Quality is no worse then previous V+, reponsiveness is fine). At the moment just teaching it my likes/dislikes.

One question though. With my previous V+ I would switch it off overnight, more out of habit then anything. Just wondering if the TiVo needs to be on 24/7 or can also be turned off at night? I know the guide updates in the background, so would this be affected?

Apart from that (and the small picture flicker, when pressing Home), so far I think its great. The TiVo man took around 45 minutes, and the installation was straight-forward (even though he told me one install took over 3 hours). Hopefully, I'll start getting some recommendations through soon. All in all - I'm pleased :)

I turn mine off at night and it has had all the updates so it does not matter if on or in standby:D

If off = standby then yes, that's fine. Of course, "off at the mains" won't record anything :D

Thanks to both of you - I should have said off at the mains :( But, yeah, looks like if I switch it off at the mains, it won't record any recommendations overnight (which is obvious to me now I've written it down :) ) I'll keep it on 24/7 then, and just switch to standby at night :tu:

Only 24 hours now until my TiVo installation :) coming between 1 and 6 tomorrow and can't wait for it now! I think the positived definitetly outweigh the weaknessed but then again that's what software updates are for
