Internet went off at 7am this morning, checked service status page and was greeted with We're doing some essential work on our network at the moment to make sure we're always giving you the best service possible. We'll keep any disruption to a minimum, but services in some areas might be affected temporarily.". Estimated fix date is 5 hours from now... Hopefully something to son with the resegmentation

I was online around 4am and the net stopped working properly for 15 mins, same thing happened on Tuesday morning but then it only lasted 5 minutes. packet loss of 80% - 100% and pings of almost 2000ms and nothing loading. seemed to be the second hop on traceroutes.

Tracing route to bbc.co.uk [212.58.251.195]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

I'm guessing maintenance or something for it to happen twice in a week at 4am.

I apparently had a spike of some kind at 8am this morning:

No idea what went on there. I was around at 8am as well and didn't notice a thing!

I have the same packet loss and time as you Grumpy, so that won't be local to you.

I'm still on a SH1 and had the packet loss up here in Manchester.

Buuuut, here's a graph from my connection at work (Which is Zen DSL):

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/s...31-08-2013.png

I'd say it was an issue with TBB.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

Yeah an issue TBB end as its on my Sky graph too. Interesting to see my minimum latency went down a millisecond straight after the red blip and lasted a few hours. Usually the green line is religiously solid even with the heavy type of downloading I was doing for the last 24 hours. Wondering if less network traffic due to rebooting their ping blades caused the effect. I could be a pixel lower if no one else used the service! :D

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

I've been getting told for weeks now that there's an SNR issue in my area and every time I report it I get the stock excuse 'will be fixed in 5 days'. Now pricing up alternative suppliers for the first time in about 20 years. Fed up throwing over £120 a month at a supplier that is more interested in topping some speed league table than providing a stable service.

Yeah, their attitude towards degraded service absolutely sucks. As far as they're concerned, degraded service is still service.
