I did quote my post with  'sarcasm' marks ;). My point was that the quote from the DS news item was misleading, suggesting that there was no nationwide rollout and that it was local to the Yorkshire area for no apparent specific reason ( other than Yorkshire people can't be trusted but surely that's the Welsh as in "welsh on a deal"?). Presumably the rollout will be on a head-end by head-end basis as each is upgraded to support NagraVision 3 (with NV1 backwards compatibility). One could further speculate that the rollout might be subdivided by franchise (ex-C&W, ex-NTL, ex-TW) and might also coincide with analogue switch-off at those head-ends but, then again, all of these things could be totally independent of each other. I'm having trouble locating a historical schedule of the VM switch-off, listng areas already switched off and those yet to be done. Does anyone know where I can find one? |
