You're right, but where are you seeing that? I can only see router.asus.com which could be anything surely? (Unless I'm being particularly blind).

Anyway, 172.x.x.x is an internal IP like 192.x.x.x so it's a bit odd that it has suddenly changed.

Possibly a stupid question, but when you log into your router, what is the router's IP set to?

Martin needs to go to 172.18.200.1 and see if that logs him into the router.

If not, then 192.168.1.1 gets him in and the plot thickens. The system log cold be examined - towards the extreme right hand side of the page to see if there is a change of IP address in any of the service requests.

As I said, and as oper Kush's humungus diagram,

Advanced Settingd --> LAN -- change address to 192.168.1.1 & reboot the thing.

I wonder if the ASus defaults to a 172 if it detects a conflict on the 192.168.1.1 address or something? Just a guess, I have no idea how that could have happened either.
