Just treated myself to an Amazon fire stick for a non-smart uncabled tv, very impressed, much quicker than VMs offerings. Only £25.

Yes, it has a nice, very modern feel about it and it is quick.

As for VM's offerings, the V6 is just as quick. The Tivo was beginning to drive me mad!

I don't think you can get Pluto tv on the Roku in the UK, can you? I'm not able to check at the moment, but will do so later today.

But I do think the Roku is an excellent piece of kit.

Just checked - Pluto is not on my Roku, but I think it is on there in the States.

The BBC is putting together lots of additional material for Christmas on the i-Player, and they are looking to compete better with the likes of Netflix and Amazon for the future.

The poor old Beeb haven't quite got the hang of this new way of programme delivery. They need to ensure that their material is on there for a lot more than 30 days!

Well, at least they are moving in the right direction - all in the fullness of time!

Yes they are which i stated earlier in this thread i think lol.
Also TCM is on it's way too.

Thanks. Do you know if TCM will be on the Freesat version of their app?

Also, as they have had to remove some channels from the Freesat version due to rights restrictions, do you know if a way round this is to be able to simply watch on another device?

Cheers.

No idea tbh i think the freesat app is tv player light this may be one of the reasons tv player split the packs into two so say freesat customers weren't paying the same as standard customers for less content.

Interestingly TVplayer are not only getting ITV box office ppvs and Boxnation but looks like they now have their own PPV system in place too, i just got a emailing about a Wrestling ppv (not WWE vince) for £9.95.

Ahhh right, I didn't know that Freesat customers paid less (was asking for someone else). If this is the case it's unlikely that the missing channels would appear by logging into another device (even if this is possible).

There are three packs now for tvplayer light £5.99p/m freesat get a cut down version of this i think the other channels would appear if using pc or tablet etc, tv player plus £7.99p/m this includes channels such as GOLD this is not available to freesat customers but is on all other devices, and kids £1.99p/m this also isn't on freesat.
As far as i'm aware itv box office, boxnation and tvplayer ppv is not available to freesat either.
