Yup, same on mine:

Peering link went down or something? It smells of a routing issue that has just automatically fallen over in some way.

How very peculiar. Getting a fair amount of packet loss as well (although it's not noticeable).

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

They've probably got some cheap off-the-back-of-a-lorry bandwidth deal with Cogent tied up so figured they would route a few million people via cheese country and see if anyone noticed.

still have the messy/jittery minimum latency but I guess it's just cosmetic.

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

Ever since that french routing thing, my ping to google has dropped 7ms.. possibly they have some new routing

C:\Users\Jarrod>ping google.co.uk

Pinging google.co.uk [64.15.115.119] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 64.15.115.119: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=58
Reply from 64.15.115.119: bytes=32 time=8ms TTL=58
Reply from 64.15.115.119: bytes=32 time=9ms TTL=58
Reply from 64.15.115.119: bytes=32 time=9ms TTL=58

Ping statistics for 64.15.115.119:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 8ms, Maximum = 9ms, Average = 8ms

Re: Think Broadband Ping Monitor Results (POST YOURS)

Past few days my internet has been really great (besides fluctuating download speeds at peak time), with the fix date for upstream and downstream utilisation not until 7th of August.

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...2013/07/49.png

I'm just wondering, if downstream utilisation can cause fluctuating pings, with spikes as seen in the graph? I can do a speedtest at ANY time and get my full 11.5mbps upload, but download speed varies at peak time from 50mb to 125mb.

This was just over a week ago:

http://www.thinkbroadband.com/ping/m...23-06-2013.png

This seems like upstream utilisation to me, I'd struggle to get more than 3mbps upload at peak time, about a week ago
