Netflix protect the rights holder by Geo-Blocking the content and therefore fill their half of the bargain.

If someone uses a filter to gain access to the content by fooling the website into thinking it is somewhere else is again not against anything. The price of Netflix is the same regardless of where you access it, therefore you are paying for the access to the content and the rights holders are getting their monies.

If Netflix really didnt like VPNs then they wouldn't allow people to sign into US Netflix with their UK account.

To be fair this problem is not of Netflix's making - they are trying to break into a market already stitched up by others - and they are doing no more (or less) than they legally have to. However if the nasty stuff ever hits the fan, they are pretty well covered by the above, the user is not.

Gunslinger has agreed there is nothing illegal about using VPNs or DNS. He has, however, shown us Netflix's T+C's and has shown us why he thinks people are illegally watching TV shows from other countries. His post has certainly made the area less grey for me than it was previously.

It would be a shame if others could not respond in their defence.
