That's how Google's app guidelines state that apps on 7" tablets should work.

I have loads on apps on my Nexus 7 which work in landscape (Netflix for example). Are they all against Google app guidelines?

Yes. Some, like the BBC News app, originally followed the guidelines but added landscape mode due to user requests.

Hopefully VM will follow common sense guidelines then. :)

I was hoping someone could tell me what they are watching that is only in portrait. My nexus 7 shows the streaming in landscape but mostly it only offers me the option to watch on my tv - which i would as i am sitting in front of it with the blasted device.
Everything else works in landscape - Netflix - Sky Go - Flixter - Youtube - iPlayer - Any films i watch through Poweramp or Archos Video.
What are people trying to watch that only work with portrait? :)

Any screens in the app apart from the stream

Would be nice to have the option I guess, but after using the app on a 10" tablet I'd find the landscape orientation a bit fiddly on a 7" screen.

Is there ever going to be a time when you can watch recordings on the app? And if you only have 1 tivo box in the house (with 2 other V+ boxes) is there any point in connecting the Tivo to the home network via the router?

What does connecting the Tivo box with an ethernet cable actually do?

Re: TV Anywhere Android App

Currently TiVo would require extra hardware to watch recordings directly from the box.

So the TiVo connected allows you to use the app as a remote control

I too am annoyed with the Nexus 7 only in portrait for menus and the like, streaming is in landscape. The reason I've been given is a choice that 7" and below are phones therefore the app only works in portrait, above that the app will work in landscape if you hold the device that way.

Please note that I don't work in the app division so for the purpose of this thread I am just "a user".

Getting enough capacity to cope with popular football matches would be a useful start.

It's supported KitKat since the end of Feburary, so that's a little late ;)
