Well its all about TiVo at the moment, it would be nice to have some new channels to encourage Sky users to switch, I cannot see many switching just for TiVo features alone.

I think something are in the wind.

I mean why do they not launch Sky Arts HD channel now why wait until April 26?

Back in December 18th 2000 Telewest launched:

Tara (an channel like Sky1 from Ireland)
B4U Movies
B4U Music
ITN News
The Money Channel
and 18 Radio Channels (BBC Radio 1, ITN News Radio, WRN Radio, RTE Radio plus more)

Agreed it is strange for Vm to announce a launch date so far in advance.

Yes it would be nice to get some further hd and sd channels soon, Virgin just cannot rely on Tivo to get new customers.

Well people have been saying on here for ages that TIVO will have HD movie streaming services and many other internet reliant apps , so what about a scenario of houses with two TIVO boxes and 100mb internet connection , after 6pm kids downloading on peer2peer , someone using Lovefilm HD to watch a movie and other box watching YouTube , still think there will be no extra load on the network ?

Why would it be an issue. Virgin know what connections they install where so can make sure the network is built to match

As a VM XL BB subscriber I hope you are correct , however check the various BB forums and there are plenty who suffer on VM network peak time now. The TIVO modem has no Traffic management limitations on it also.

As I usually say in these situations, define "plenty". I reckon that barely 1% of VM's userbase are regular forum users. (Yes, 75k members of CF but not all posting in here, for example.)

Also, people who post to complain are a self-selecting group. If all those with no problems posted too, I wonder which would be the bigger group? ;)

Yes, VM have some problems in some areas and it would be stupid to suggest otherwise; which is why I never have. But are they as widespread as some people like to suggest? Only VM know for sure.
