And I bet no apology given either den.

Codeine didn't help, if anything pain has now spread up the back to my kidneys so a visit tomorrow morning to the GP is beckoning I think.

I am on morphine tablets for my pain - they're pretty good :tu:

I hope you get sorted at the dr's.

No Plymouth to Westbury was fine but alas Westbury to Fareham was delayed significantly because of signalling and points problems thus there were speed limits in place as well.

For those suffering severe pain knowing what relief is best for you, I started on paracetamol then pregabalin + tramadol. Finally onto morphine pain patches, side effects like disturbed nights (pink elephants lol) then finally blockage of bowel.
With having poo problems caused me more back pains so took myself off whatever meds I was on at the time for 7days.
I found the 7days off pain relief suited me at the time allowing my bowels to recover.

I am so angry right now that Christmas cheer is well and truly out of the window. Paid £70 into my Nat West account yesterday through the cash machine with my card, and then £7.70 in coin over the counter. Balance at midnight was £84.79 and I then transferred over £50 to a relative. Check balance at 7 this morning when I wake up and I am £35.71 overdrawn, with them saying there is no record of me paying in £70 yesterday. Stupidly I threw away the receipt so now am waiting for them to look into it. But am so angry over it.

My Mum was diagnosed two weeks ago with Myeloma and the MacMillan nurse have given some booklets on this matter along with other booklets on Non Hodkins Lymphoma and talking about Cancer. While I understand it. I can't seem to bring myself in telling the wee one what his Granny has but he keeps asking why his Granny is always sleeping and why is she losing weight.

My sympathy weenie, and at that it is hard to know how to explain death or impending death to a young person. Saying that, they might just surprise you. When my Nan was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005, my sister and brother who were 7 and 5 at the time took the news well. First question both asked was would she get better and I'm happy to say she is now fully recovered. Once they were told she would get better they accepted it a lot better than I did, who was 21 at the time.

Only you know your child and how well they will take the news.

Thanks den.

Mark the trouble with the wee one he is such sweet little boy and quite immature compared to his peers and can take things quite bad also he gets upset really easily but I will tell him about his Granny after the Christmas period as he's not silly and he does know that something is going on.

I am hoping that we will have something to celebrate in the New Year as I think my eldest son is going to propose to his lovely young lady fingers crossed. I class her as the daughter I never had anyway as she has bee in the family since she was 15.

I really don't give a crap about Christmas ATM.

It doesn't help not knowing what time we are finishing on Christmas Eve, as our (expletive) of a boss won't say, last year we were told in early December, and nobody will dare ask as the last time someone did he lost it and said FULL WORKING DAY.

But every year we go through the same crap knowing that it will be a 12 noon finish.

I can't wait to tell him with a diagram where he can stick his job.

Train companies, I wish they would train their staff better. Relative had to change travel plans, and we were told that both tickets she had for travel last Friday were valid for travel for 5 days afterwards, yet today on the train she finds out that Virgin CS woman (who was in the black hole of Calcutta and spoke very poor English) was wrong and the ticket for the second half of the journey was wrong. So cost her £35 on the train. Spitting feathers now, and seriously considering complaining to Virgin about it.

I was recently buying a new car, but still had my old one for various reasons, so called up my insurance company, and went through to an Indian call centre, and talked about moving the insurance over to the new car, and keeping my old car on there as a secondary car until I sold it - not a problem, the premium went up by about £20, but essentially meant that both cars would be covered until I got rid of the other one.
There was a conversation that consisted of "So, that will cover both cars - correct?" - "Yes".
Great I thought, I will call back in a few days to finalize. So I did - and then spoke to a local call centre - they then told me what I wanted wasn't possible, and what the lady had actually been doing was swapping the insurance to the new car, and leaving my old car uninsured - so I would have been driving around uninsured - which would have been great when I got pulled over....

MalteseFalcon 22-12-2015 12:08

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

It might save the companies money, but causes so much aggravation for the customers. If they have to have the call centre in India, at least get people who can speak a standard of English.

Went down to Tenby today for Xmas (rest of family coming tomorrow). Torrential rain most of the way especially after the Severn Bridge. Majority of drivers ignoring the bad weather notices and 50mph limit. Amazing the number not using any lights

House fine but has Sky. TV OK as it has movies. Broadband carp as only 20Mb compared with 200Mb and laptop insisted on updating itself.

Still could have been worse as we thought of going to Keswick as we did a few years ago.

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

Had to develop something of a strong right arm today, a relative this morning while I was asleep dropped the toilet duck down the toilet as it flushed. Rather than try and reach down to see if they could fish it out, decided to flush a second time which has resulted in the toilet becoming blocked. Dynorod came out and they tried to remove it but it is now too far lodged in.

Need to wait until Tuesday now for a plumber from them to come out and drill the toilet off the wall as the screws used originally are rusted in and they won't come out with a screwdriver. So now with 2 Sunday opening hours in supermarkets we are screwed. Had I been awake I would have said reach down and see if you can grab it but it was all over by the time I awoke.

Great end to Christmas. NOT!

It was nearly finished, so they were flushing the last bit out of the old one but they dropped it as it flushed. Sadly never thought of trying to grab it before flushing a second time. So today we've been relying on Sainsbury's and Tesco, which was only a small window given it is Sunday hours. Thankfully, Tesco open at midnight tonight so I might well be there when they open up!

My Starter motor died, it was caused by the Power Steering leaking on it.

It was initially thought the Starter motor was under warranty, but it wasn't but they gave me a discount on it, so it cost me £630.

My Flywheel/Clutch is going and the dealer want £1500 :(

But Mr Clutch will be around £700.

Happy new year.

My body. Looks like the diabetes is finally catching up to me. Me eyesight is fine thank God. However, I am suffering from numbness in my right foot which the diabetic nurse wasn't happy about. Seeing my GP Friday morning about it. Being referred to the endocrinologist at the hospital for better control and also being referred for dietician advice. So all in all, I think I'm on course to being completely ruined by diabetes.

Hitting send by mistake :erm:

I can't believe just how silly I have been I have only sent an email (that was meant as a draft) to the CEO at the company I bought a unit from and the last sentence was rather cheeky IMO. I honestly meant to save it as a draft to show hubby what I would love to send. I can only hope the CEO see's the funny side of the email because when he gets to the end the last sentence I wrote and I quote I thought your company's motto was (no veneer in here) and not No Veneer in here just the odd spot of wood filler that can clearly be seen but don't worry cos No Veneer in here and yes I did put that in bold. Maybe I could email back and say please ignore previous correspondence and this is in fact the one I meant to send but silly me hit send instead of draft please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

Yes I do feel a bit of a :dunce: and my eldest son is no help at all as he is in fits of laughter at the moment saying that's pure class Mum it really is. I won't tell hubby and hope and pray that the CEO see's the funny side like my darling son.

I really do hope the CEO does not think what a cheeky woman! I'm doing nothing to help her. Anyway not much point in worrying now it's sent and what will be will be, I will let you know if he is willing to help despite the cheeky sentence.

I'm glad I made you laugh Nash but I can assure you I never made them laugh they have basically offered myself a full refund and no replacement. I think I may have been banned from ever purchasing anything from their stores again and I'm not kidding as when I said what is to stop me from purchasing another tv unit he basically said that's not going to happen so therefore I got the impression that would not be an option. I do not know if they can do this or not but I am currently waiting for a call back today as I simply refused their offer of refund as I want a replacement but they just keep going on about the filler and ignoring all the other faults is holes, scratches and the fact the unit came loosely packed and not to mention un-boxed.

Well, if they want to ban you, they can, but banning a customer for complaining wont end well. Ask for notice of this ban in writing with the reasoning. Send this letter to the media, and watch it blow up in their face.

If all customers were banned from shops because of getting a bit miffed by bad Customer Service then I think half of the population would be in trouble.

Good advice Stop It.

I phoned CA and was told to stop all correspondence via emails and calls after today. What I have to say today is I am entitled to repair/replacement/full refund (my choice)

A replacement is not a option unless 1)impossible 2)Disproportionate Cost
A retailer can decline the replacement remedy if the cost would be disproportionately higher than the cost repair of – or vice versa.

I do not believe this to be the case as this item is on sale in your stores at the price I purchased it for. As per our our discussions I request a like for like replacement within a reasonable time scale or I will consider further action including trading standards.

Glad you have sought advice. You are well within your rights to request a replacement. A store cannot refuse this because they don't like you and frankly, if they are so thin skinned as to react this way to what you have wrote, then the company needs to re-train their staff.

Car whinge here

Autoglass finally fitted the correct windscreen and trims for my car on Sunday, left the car overnight, got in yesterday started the car up airbag warning light.

The airbag hasnt been disabled, so it's either the occupancy sensor £100 or the airbag module £600 find out on Thursday when the car goes in for diagnostics.

Cant prove it's those morons either !!!

In the end to safe more hassle than what it was worth I have accepted a restore of the cabinet on the understanding if and then I am not fully satisfied then a replacement will be ordered but they are full of confidence that I will be delighted as they only use French polishers. Mr Sheen from France LOL

Although I would have liked a replacement in the end I thought what have I to lose if I am still not happy with the quality of the unit then it will be replaced, I did try and push my luck and say what about a part refund for the upset caused and he said that he could not offer that. Oh well worth a try but I was 99% sure that the answer would have been no.

Silly question, but are you a particularly tall or short person? Many airbag faults turn out to be the connecting plug under the driver's seat (for the occupancy sensor) failing due to the seat being moved forward/back for a different driver (such as a glass fitter)

I'm 5'10 the fitter was about 6'1 hopefully it may be that, but the airbag light will still need to be reset by specialist software which will cost £30 ish (still better than the module going)

Thanks Nash.

I have now just cancelled the restore from no veneer in here well that's my name for them now among others that I could not possibly air :nono: The tv unit is getting picked up tomorrow between 10:30-13:30 with full refund to follow as I was really not happy with the customer service and the fact they would not offer an replacement the man who was dealing with me yesterday seemed shocked at myself cancelling the restore when I phoned him this morning and requesting it to be returned and guess what this company is now offering a replacement to which I declined too late no veneer in here your loss not mine :PP:

I have since bought another unit and lamp table from another company that looks very similar to the tv unit purchased from no veneer in here in fact I would not be surprised if it comes from the same supplier. I am so happy as no veneer in here total was £329.76 as I also purchased their furniture guard 5 year plan.

The company I ordered from gave myself a discount so in the end the two items I bought came to a grand total of £358.10. I have more faith in this company as they have a 14 day money back guarantee not to mention the reviews for this company are really good on Trust Pilot.

These items get delivered on Monday :hyper:

If it's text messages Mark can you not block her number. Anyway it sounds as if you had a lucky escape as she sounds a right one after all if someone requests you to back off most people do. Wishing you the best of luck and let's hope she stop's this nonsense soon as bombarding you with messages is unacceptable behaviour especially after you telling her to back off IMO.

Chalk it up to experience and move on. At least anti-stalking laws allow you some redress.

PC's grunting a bit this morning: I've got Handbrake transcoding the entire original Star Trek series, all eighty episodes including "that" one, to codecs (AAC and H264) that the smart TV understands.

Sony don't support Divx.

The obsession of fly on the wall type documentary and light entertainment programme makers with repeating short sections of the same footage. It's as if they feel they need to remind viewers of what they've already seen not only once but several times.

Or the common practice of showing around 2 minutes of a segment, then cutting away to another one, leaving the viewer in "suspense" about each little bit. No, it's just annoying, stop that.

Just filling and padding out the show, over the course of a series they probably get a whole show out of it doing nothing

After opting for a full refund that should be in my bank no later than Wednesday. Since the arranged full refund I have received a email from the company here is part of this email
Congratulations! You are now on your way to receiving your xxx xxxxxxxxx xxxx purchase. Whilst we are confident that you will be delighted with every aspect of your purchase, we feel that it’s important to recap on the next stage of the process. If any questions arise or should you encounter any problems, your xxx xxxxxxxxx xxxx Owner’s Manual is on hand and ready to assist.

You've opted for our free standard delivery service, we will text (SMS) you with a delivery date. You'll just need to reply YES or NO to that text. If you text YES you will receive a delivery confirmation email. If you text NO, we'll be in touch. You will also receive a separate email with your owner's manual that includes more detail to read through at your convenience. I have received the owner's manual via email also.

What do I do. Do I wait for the full refund and then call them to cancel this replacement. I know that a bank transfer is going in my bank because a lady from the customer service refunds team phoned me and took bank details sort code, account number etc on Thursday and then advised myself that the payment would take 3-5 days which I assume she mean's working day's for the funds to arrive in my account.

Surely these emails are not in connection with my refund  This sounds to me like they have arranged a replacement as well as a refund. Do you think they have arranged a replacement by mistake!

What does it sound to you, any advice on this would be most welcome.

I would just stay quiet until you know for sure the refund is in your bank, if a replacement turns up after that time either don't sign for it or sign for it and don't open it and tell the shop to collect it if they want it back on your terms.

Just make sure you don't get billed for it.

joglynne 17-01-2016 11:58

Re: Moans and Pet Hates part 8

@ Weenie. I suspect that their refund has been actioned manually whilst the order process is automated and whoever you dealt with on the phone didn't cancel the replacement and/or didn't go into the supply system to tidy up.

I had a similar problem problem with Argos when I ordered a microwave oven for a friend. For some reason the on-line order was duplicated/triplicated and I was receiving multiple emails advising delivery. I phoned up and although the extra ovens never got delivered I still got notices regarding their delivery.

In your case I would do as Snoopz says and hang on to any delivery. It could come in handy to use as leverage should your refund not materialise.

Several plates from the dishwasher have got a chalky deposit on them. Means I need to get some salt, top it up and run a regenerate cycle on the water softener. We have very hard water down here as it comes from the chalk aquifer under the town.

Life. So complicated, and so damn painful at times. You try your best to help someone and they throw it back in your face by becoming a jealous possessive witch, who when you finally break things off responds by cyber stalking you and makes threats. Head is all over the place, so am going offline for a few days while I get my head sorted out.

Pita bread

I used to remember them coming out of a toaster and cutting them in half, perfection.

but now they've change something an one side is tissue thin while the other is duvet thick, and they fall apart. Cook for 1 min and undercooked, cook for 1 minutes 1 second cremated.

I give up Garlic ones used to be so nice with bacon.

Yup - being stuck in hospital sucks - I hope she gets sorted soon. I was stuck in six weeks - but some people get stuck in a lot longer - I hope she's one of the lucky ones :tu:

My moan - I wish the transplant people would get a move on so I can get 'officially' on the 'list', I don't feel like I'm any further along.

I hope this year is the year it all gets fixed and /maybe/ I can go back to work.

Hospital's no place for people who aren't sick and the social care system needs a big shake up I reckon - there are too many beds being blocked by people who need a very different type of care.
