I use a background picture all the time I think it looks way better, but a picture off the net, not a pointless game achievement.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Is there anywhere I can buy Xbox One games digitally, i.e the code, without paying the £54.99 that the official store charges?
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Not that I know of. CDKeys.com has some games but not many. I get my credit from there which makes digital purchases a bit cheaper.
|
Re: The Xbox One Thread
Yes Cdkeys.com is the place to go, you can also get 5% off via Facebook each time.
There are some good cheap games here so check it out the site is legit. http://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/games |

Nice! Cheaper and I can go digital only. Is there really no drawback? (other than the trade-offs in being digital).

I saw their reasoning on Reddit and their excuse was because of the codes being from another country.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Just how next gen are these consoles ? I've read a lot of pages on the web that seem to suggest we won't see much 4K action games or streaming on the Xbox One or PS4 which seems like madness for a so called next gen console if true.

I am personally happy with my X1, it is a step up from the 360, however alot of games are not 1080p, but that doesn't mean they still don't look great, and they're improving as the developers get the hang of the new hardware and when DX12 comes out that should help too. |

£50 store credit for £44.90. 13 months of XBL Gold for £27.99, instead of buying 12 months from MS for £40. And if you like CDKeys.com on Facebook you get a code for 5% off. ---------- Post added at 13:53 ---------- Previous post was at 13:47 ---------- Quote:
Sunset Overdrive is meant to be excellent, and is currently reduced, as mentioned by SnoopZ. Wolfenstein: The New Order is a great shooter, with a surprisingly good story and characters for a shooter (especially for a Wolfy game!). Dragon Age: Inquisition and Diablo III are both awesome. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is a return to form for the CoD series, after the abomination that was Ghosts. It's short and linear, but it's a good fun shooter with some great action. Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is a brilliant open-world action-adventure set in between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It's best described as a mixture of Assassin's Creed and the Batman Arkham games. And of course there is Grand Theft Auto V... ---------- Post added at 14:04 ---------- Previous post was at 13:53 ---------- Oh, and Russ - Have a look at EA Access. SnoopZ posted the link earlier, here it is again: http://www.ea.com/eaaccess/en_GB.html £3.99 per month, or £19.99 per year. 10% discount on EA digital downloads, 5 day early trial access to new EA games, and unlimited access to all EA games in "The Vault" (currently Peggle 2, FIFA 14, Madden 25, Need For Speed Rivals, Battlefield 4, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, and EA Sport UFC... with more to be added over time). |

I love having EA access its been so good already after only a week. UFC and Battlefield 4. Bought Tomb Raider for £16 on the marketplace, Lara never looked so good! However with Christmas and so many games I am now at 82% full on the HDD. Think I will HAVE to invest in an external drive ASAP. Don't get disc games still having to install over 40Gb to the drive when I still have to insert the disc. Guess its left over from their original DRM plans and not requiring the disc. |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Has anyone had problems redeeming prepaid codes before? I bought FIFA 15 from cdkeys and when i enter the code it keeps coming up with an error message saying 'something went wrong' but doesn't actually say what went wrong!?!
I used the online Microsoft support chat and they said the code is correct and hasn't been redeemed yet and to keep trying it and it will work...they couldn't tell me what is actually wrong?!?! Is this something that happens from time to time? I'm getting fed up of putting in the same 25 digit code time and time again! I might just stick to discs rather than digital downloads from now on...! |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I've had that once or twice before and just tried again and it worked.
Are you redeeming via Xbox.com or via the console itself? |
Re: The Xbox One Thread
I've tried on both several times and get the same error message. I've given up for now and will try again in an hour or so.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
I've tried different browsers and on the console, resetting the console, tried a few hours later and it still isn't working
The code is definitely right because it comes up saying its for FIFA 15, its after that when i click confirm it goes to the error screen. The person on Microsoft support said its still valid and hasn't been redeemed, but i get the feeling they didn't know what the issue was because they just said try again later and didn't tell me what the actual problem is. Its rather annoying...:dozey: |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Just spent most of the past week totally immersed in Battlefield 4 and completed it last night - awesome game. I haven't really been in to gaming for about 6 years or so and the last BF game I played was the original circa-2002 PC version so I was impressed at how far they've come with it. Little touches like the rest of the squad following you even if you're going off-route and away from your target are really good.
I found a few niggles though, the graphics would do some odd things occasionally for example when you're driving through Shanghai in all the traffic a man walks out in front of the jeep, you drive straight through him and he passes through the vehicle as well - only to appear further up the road again doing the same thing only on the left of the screen. Also at times your path is blocked by wall of about 18 inches high or something equally as small. There's a bit in the prison too where you can't crouch past a table as a chair attached to it blocks your path even though you can see there's enough space. It crashed on me a few times too, the scene where you're trying to get to the airport and get attacked by tanks, I blew one of them up, the game froze for a few seconds then restarted back to when I was in the bunk and had to find Irish. The other annoying thing was occasionally the game wouldn't save my progress after I powered my Xbox down. Other times it took me right back to where I was. Still, loved the game - cheers EA Access :D Do they often add games to the ones they give you? |

Re: The Xbox One Thread
One last question, I know that 360 games won't work with XBO, but if I have a save game on say FIFA 15 on the 360, would that save still work on the XBO or would I need to start afresh? I'm assuming that if 360 discs and games won't work then the save games will not work but just checking.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
It kept my ultimate team from 360 to 1 but not my record on online seasons or any offline games.

Re: The Xbox One Thread
Some games will let you transfer an online character/career - e.g. Destiny, BF4, COD AW.
SP campaign saves won't transfer, though. Depends on the game... |
