it is, this is a major and they dont put the amencorner or holes 14,15 or the featured groups on the red button if you have a tivo box, i think its pathetic, its the worst thing i did was get one in my bedroom.. should of stuck with my normal VHD box...

See previous post Dave. Red button is on HD box for the masters but not for the much heralded more expensive TiVo. Although if you want to record hundreds of hours of TV rather than enjoy the best coverage TiVo is the answer;)

Dave why do you never apportion any of the blame to VM surely it can't always be Sky , then again I guess it's easier to blame them.

Red button coverage is on HD box Dave, but as I mentioned not on TiVo. Have no idea why it disappeared on Denphone's box, I've never seen it he's never invited me round.:(

It's a joint decision. There is an agreed schedule of which events will have a red button. Neither company would want to launch something that wasn't ready.

So if the schedule is agreed are you saying they agreed to allow red button masters coverage on HD box but not on TiVo  If that's the case it's mental:td:

It's not at all 'mental'. The Liberate applications that run on the V-HD box were completed last year, but the TiVo versions are still in development. It would be 'mental' to prevent Liberate users from using the red button just because it isn't yet available on TiVo.

That's not what you said in your original post Spiderplant. You stated that it had been decided what events would and wouldn't be covered by red button, not that it was a technical issue. So it appears that TiVo is not capable of supporting this function that the old box can, progress? Aye very good:td:

Apparently from sources who have just contacted me the Tennis is coming later in the summer and it should not say that in the upcoming events.

Quote:

Great news! The wait is nearly over for our TiVo customers who’ve been waiting for Premier League Red Button coverage.

What are we launching?

Starting with Background Events so that our Sky Sports customers on TiVo can follow over-running, clashing and extra live Sports that won’t fit on Sky Sports 1-4. And then shortly followed by Football First for extended highlights of every Premier League match played on the day.

When are we launching?

MBE (Multiple Background Events) will launch on March 2nd and Football First on March 3rd. After that we’ll be launching Formula 1, Tennis will be coming later in the summer and both Champions League and Heineken Cup will be there for the start of the next season.

Please note: events are subject to change without notice

What channels will Sky Sports interactive be available on?

The interactive Red Button application will be available, for TiVo customers on the following Sky Sports Channels.

Sky Sports 1 511 & Sky Sports 1HD 517
Sky Sports 2 512 & Sky Sports 2 HD 518
Sky Sports 3 513
Sky Sports 4 514
Sky Sports F1 (when it launches)

I don’t subscribe to Sky Sports, how can I do this to take advantage of the Red Button services that will be available on selected events?

All you need to do is arrange an upgrade to Sky Sports, the Red Button service (available on selected events only) will be available at no extra charge.

When will BBC red button interactive services launch?

More good news! We’ve been working with the BBC to launch Red Button services on TiVo and we’re hoping to start the roll out in April. This service will launch a menu over BBC channels.

We’ll be communicating further interactive service launches as and when they happen - so watch this space!

The Red Button apps on Virgin are developed by Sky and show what they want them to, so

Sky would reply telling the customer to report the issue to their provider which of course is VM , after all Skys customer is VM rather than the direct individual as Sky holds know customer data on the individual and takes no direct subscription money from them so the method you describe would be a complete waste of time.

Sky don't make all Red Button events to VM. If you press the red button when no event is broadcasting, it'll show the you upcoming ones (though Sky are still prone to change the schedule at short notice)
