No l think you are over estimating it by quite a bit as l don't think the Virgin engineers could install that many in a 3 month period.

So 10mb download would become 20mb download and 30mb download would become 60mb download ? I highly doubt it and it would never be free.
Does your friend work for Virgin Media or did someone tell your friend this ?

Anything in general really - For example, could they announce a partnership with Netflix UK etc. or do they generally just keep to the figures?

It could certainly be in that area. At the end of July Virgin had 50,000 estimated installs. Since then the price of TiVo has been slashed, and is now free to new customers.

I'd say 85,000 confirmed installs. What would be more interesting is how many people are still awaiting TiVO to be installed.

I'm looking forward to seeing the majority of the 21,200 customers lost in the last quarter, students cancelling their services for the summer according to Neil Berkett, returning. With all these students coming back, and all the new customers taking advantage of free TiVo this should be a bumper quarter for Virgin in terms of new customers taking TV services. Failing to replace the 21,200 lost customers from last quarter, or even further losses, would not be positive at all.

That would be great but I can't see if happening. Virgin would need to give away hundreds and thousands of mini hubs to current broadband customers to allow them to access some of the new speeds. Virgin wouldn't do this free of charge. I would expect them to at least charge either their standard £30.00 activation fee or installation fee of £49.95.

I'll tell you what though, if that is announced tomorrow I'll be chuffed to bits. I'll also eat my hat.

You are forgetting there were another 25,000 customers awaiting installation.
