Just sounded long winded and tedious compared to most PVRs were you highlight your program press R and then choose record once or record series.

…and hope the person at the other end who is responsible for setting up the series link has included every episode.

I can only compare to V+ and Sky , both of which I've never had any series link issues , apart from V+ not having a dynamic epg and missing 1 or 2 minutes at the end Of a show , not had this with Sky though.

How does Sky's EPG get on with the BBC's tendency to run everything about 3 minutes early?

I tape frequently on the following channels BBC One HD , ITV1 HD , ESPNA HD , Sky One HD , Universal HD and Living HD and never had a missed start or finish.

Sky automatically buffers based on the EPG data so you dont have to manually add padding, although the option is there if you prefer... wish Virgin would go this way.

Buffering? Do you mean padding?

I have A Freeview+ DVR and have never had any issues with series links and because there is a dynamic epg if there is a last minute time change due to an overrun it still records the program.

It does seem strange that tivo didn't get a dynamic EPG. OTOH, what happens on a dynamic EPG if it says BBC1 is running late and won't finish until 9.05 and your tuner needs to switch chanels at 9:00 to record another channel?

My freeview + has two tuners, if there is a clash it will continue to record and use the other tuner. Should there be a clash of three programs then it will look for a later airing.
