Sorry, didn't make myself clear. I'm not as technically minded as some of the posters on here, but I was wondering if updates to the TiVo software would resolve any of the SD PQ issues some people are concerned about, or is it a hardware issue (i.e. The type of TV you have)? I don't have TiVo myself, I'm just going by other peoples comments. I realise you've seen no problem yourself, but could this issue be a real one, or are people expecting too much? (no offence meant to anyone who sees it as a genuine problem!)

You can't polish a turd.

Lmao!

True but there are polished SD channels so wanting to preserve what is polished already, rather than adding more turds!

Just got a phone call :Yikes:

Tivo being installed next Tuesday!!!!

I made a phone call earlier today to Virgin asking when I would get it and they said they would contact pre-registered customers by end of March to arrange installation. I then told them I had pre-registered in Dec and was a series 1 Tivo owner but that made no difference and I would have to wait my call..... then later that evening a phone call!! Maybe just a coincidence? Mmmmm?

How happy am I !!!!!!!!

Shiny turds weren't my idea! I was just giggling at the guy who posted it earlier. Comedy Gold.:)

One other point to raise with the VM guys on here.

I notice that my Tivo failed to record True Blood on FX HD @22.00 4th March and Top Gear on BBC HD @20.00 Sunday 6th March.

This was because I set the series link to "Premier only". It would appear the Tivo was unaware of that these were UK Premiers ? Is it using US episode data or VM UK specific data ?

(I've changed my series links back to "premier and repeats" for now)

It's going to be quicker than calling everyone and you should have an install in April.

Thanks for that....I'll help spread the word: ;)

I didn't think the Top Gear was a Premiere - it was a part 1 of a compilation of the best bits of series 16.

But...but....what happened to calling over 1600 customers per day? As I said before, I can offer competitive rates to call customers :p:;)

I hope that you are not trying to get the job so that you are able to claim for repetitive strain injury after 1600 calls per day:p::D:D:D:D

A general question on this: if you set it for premier only and it can't record because all the tuners are tied up with other recordings, does it automatically look for a repeat or +1 channel and record that?

With three recordable tuners, that shouldn't be required too often, but it would be good to know if it does; I read somewhere that Freeveiw+ does this.
