I suppose all of this is getting Virgin in the news, be it for good or bad reasons!:dozey:

I myself am not really interested in football, but I think as a minimum it should be available to buy like on Sky.

Just been on to retentions. They have told me they are very frustrated also, and that we can all cancel our TV contracts due to the loss of ESPN. No attempt whatsoever to try and keep the business... I got the feeling they've just given up as there is nothing they can say to assuage the way in which their senior management have behaved on this.

What's a good sign? huh, wut!? Did I miss something?? All I saw was a moderator on £6.50ph speculating that things sometimes go down to the wire. Any one of us could of written that. And obviously there are going down to the wire as the channel's already started! :D we're past the wire, and on the other side of the wire now. the wire is behind us. look behind you, and there's a bloody great big wire in the background.

Yes let's play the waiting game. Cos none of us have been waiting up until now, let's all start to wait and see what happens.

If we don't get BT Sport I just hope that the money remaining from the loss of ESPN [let's say £9.99 per month in XL price] is used to pay for the following and then VM will be loved once more!

Scanned for any new channels through my dvb-c samsung tv and only found 2 channels testing on tuesday 30/7, it didn't say what they were just 'hidden'

So, things have changed quite a bit in nearly 12 months, but I see Virgin's stupid games haven't.

Sky atlantic should be here by now at least in SD, and well, bt sports what do we expect?

With the 2 'hidden' channels and the four freed by ESPN going that is 6 channels...

It's all about patience. And his payscale doesn't make any difference. Atleast they're taking the time to update us no-matter how small. I think the wire they're referring to is the first day of the premier league on August 17.

Anyone from VM like to comment? That post by Clarence indicates a very off message member of customer services...

Lets look at it from both sides, BT have got this brand new product and has come into this with all the bells and whistles going and it has, of course got peoples attention. They want primarily to use this to get new phone and broadband customers, but if it steals some virgin and Sky customers, all the better great PR for BT.

Virgin on the other hand have dug a bit of a hole for themselves. They have now become associated with giving football away as 'free' with tv xl from when it was Setanta and then ESPN. Virgin now want it again with BT and of course BT are playing hardball. They will both end up losing, virgin would have eroded themselves the value of their top tier tv package if they can't get it, and BT will have to explain to shareholders why a potential 4-5 million extra viewers can't see their tv channels.

The money there saving from not paying espn is going nowhere other than gathering interest to end up in shareholders back pockets
