Not necessarily.

Well, I will be watching it on Now TV if Virgin are only going to provide the SD version. That I know for sure!

I never get the hate towards SD. In fact sometimes i forget to even switch to the HD version of a channel. I'm certainly not bothered about ultra HD. I really can't be bothered seeing the pores on peoples faces or the beads of sweat. That doesn't really intrigue me that much.

Maybe i'm stuck in the past...i remember the days before digital and my concern being trying to pick up channels with my indoor aerial and watching a ton of grey fuzzy cloud half the time. I'd have died for SD then... so i'm always grateful to not have to deal with that poxy indoor aerial anymore

Yes it is of no great concern to me either if it arrives in SD then so be it but hold onto your horses Vince because it won't be long before Le God comes along and tells us we are old fossils stuck in a bygone age.;):D

Any thing may happen - that the way life is.

We may win the lotto on Wednesday. Or we may die tomorrow.

Seriously, it was bound to happen before long. Spring 2018 would be my guess.

I can see it coming in 2018, too.
Growth to all the main TV platforms has stopped so the only way Sky can get more money is by selling its channels to other platforms and via Now TV.

BT to buy ITV... hmm. I've thought ITV may get sold sooner or later but it seems odd why BT would want it? They'd just be lumbered with a network of channels they already have total access to. Thought the yanks would buy ITV.

Aye Den! I've had my HD TV for ten years and it will continue in my bedroom until the day she dies... Only then would i even contemplate getting an ultra HD tv! Plus we all know the ultra HD charge will likely be an extra ten quid knowing sky!

The BT rumour is something i've been told too so that could have something in it.

Like many others i appreciate your rumours and like you i get info but be careful mate you may get accused of trolling by a certain member.

It would open up all the HD channels from 2, 3 & 4 plus give them the option to place European football back on Freeview if they so wished

Our Sources say "By July 2018".

BT may well have considered ITV at one stage but very recently BT seems to be stepping away from content investment. Yes, it will keep BT Sport, but general entertainment channels seem set to be outsourced to Sky via Now TV from 2019.
If BT wants Freeview or HD channels it can licence them, it does not need to own them.

Who knows then. All I know is it's stupidly overdue for some overrated content.
