Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)
it seems like it's like this...
if you're on 2mb and you want 3mb, if you do the thingy, you get 10mb... if you're on 3mb, you have to find a nice kind person at CS who will oblige... also, it seems hit and miss as to who is getting it, what modem you're using and where you are. It also depends if you get the indian call centre too.. Either way, if you're on 3mb, unplug modem for 15 minutes and see if when you plug it back in if you get extra speed.. I've all but given up really... I'll wait until I dont' get error messages on the tier page, and they update the information on their website so people don't' have to sit and twiddle their thumbs or get antsy with CS... We'll get our upgrade soon enough I guess... just wish there was more clarity and people knew what they were doing at NTLs end. |

I was upgraded to 10Mb on the 8th, but as of yet can only get between 4.4Mb - 8Mb.
When will I know if my area has been upgraded (assuming that my Terayon can acually receive the full 10Mb) Also what does UBR stand for and how do I know what my UBR is (CM20 - Cambridge - Langley) |

Just tried the online tier change, but it wont accept any of the user id's and passwords we have setup on the account. Have a Terayon 210 so doubt I will get full speed anyhow. Gutted if I have to change it as the Terayon is a great modem :(

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)
I ran Dan Elwell's speed test, but have two problems:
1. cannot enter the correct speed I try to enter 1200000 / 512000 but get enter only numbers 2. It doesn't display my D/L due to time outs |

Re: *ALL* ntl 10MB Discussion (Part 3)
seeing as 2mb get 240k downloads, shouldnt 10mb be gving out 1200k speeds as opposed to the 1000k or slightly above people are getting even with the 250 modems. maybe the network isnt upto it yet?
