All the more reason to watch your TV on the streamers, Hugh. The streaming channels are a waste of space, but whatever rocks your boat.

i still reckon linear channels will come back like Disney to tv. the whole excuse will be "we can use this channel to encourage people to subscribe to Disney plus by showing some of the highlights of our subscription service!!"

the person who thinks this idea will likely receive a 10 million bonus for their "wisdom"

So ..... streaming channels are a waste of space, which is more reason to watch them

That reminds me of the strapline for a certain EV YouTube channel.

And isn't this also similar to Sky Showcase giving VM a backdoor into (most of) Sky Atlantic...

Mostly Sky UK Original drama by the looks of it, most recently Day Of The Jackal , Sweetpea and Gangs Of London.

They also showed Small Town Big Story on both Sky Max and Sky Atlantic which is bizarre.

Sky Atlantic largely becomes pointless when Max launches, they still have some existing HBO shows as co premieres but that's it.

I can see both Sky Atlantic and Sky Showcase closing.

With shows listed on your post moving to other Sky branded channels.

Channels are doomed anyway. It’ll just be a Sky streamer, like NOW.

Change a record mate - you have been saying that since I know you in 2006.

Sky doesn't even use channel branding on promotional posters anymore , only 'Sky'

really doesn't make sense the name sky Atlantic now. If they couldn't convince people to get it during that bandwagon tv show game thrones (which the book series will never be completed which is hilarious) they never will now.

Re: Virgin TV (2025)

Since it's completely different management now, I doubt they would have any qualms retiring the Sky Atlantic brand.

I’ve been saying this since 2015, but it hasn’t sunk in yet with some people on this forum. I only mentioned it because you were lamenting the possible closure of Sky Atlantic and Sky Showcase, as if this sort of thing was entirely unexpected.

What have I been saying all these years?!!
