I thought this Ukrainian put it very well…

So, Putin, expected Afghanistan 2021. But he got Afghanistan 1979. Ukrainians aren't rolling over or welcoming back an old friend. They are digging in for war. And that's an ugly scenario indeed.

Unlikely, since they’ve already captured it,

Be aware that there’s a lot of fake news and sources littering social media. I suggest you all choose media/sources that are proven to be truthful.

.

Was that a serious question?

We are seeing a lot of reports from Ukrainians saying they have killed these shot down that could easily be exaggerated. The video also of the island that could easily be doctored.

exactly.

The island video I was thinking if I had a capture of a ship passing an island it would be incredibly easy to add audio to it

No that actually happened. Ukrainian President has acknowledged its authenticity, so it actually happened.

I believe there is a good chance it did but just because the leader of a country that is being attacked says it did still could easily be propaganda.

It is not a stretch to think is could be faked to raise morale and increase support

On the offside of that it was a pointless loss of life.

Which is the fundamental tragedy of any war.

Just Italy and Germany still blocking the heaviest, ultimate sanction.

Snake Island: Ukraine says soldiers killed after refusing to surrender

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-60522454

Quote:

The official Russian account of the incident differs dramatically. Moscow said the 82 Ukrainian soldiers on the island surrendered it to them voluntarily and made no mention of carrying out strikes or inflicting casualties.
The Russians could easily prove the Ukrainians were alive by showing the "82 prisoners" - they haven’t done so.

Mmmm - who to trust more; the illegal invaders who have a history of lying and wouldn’t know the truth if it came to their front door wearing a name-badge with "TRUTH" on it, or the people whose country is under attack from the Russians?

The Ukrainian Government is encouraging independent reporting from Western media, whilst Russia is arresting anti-war protestors and blocking social media.

I’m pretty sure we didn’t have "both sides might be lying" when Poland was invaded in 1939…
