Argh!!! All this excitement and I'm going on holiday for a few days as from today.
Guess I'll have to keep an eye on here tomorrow to see any channel launches.

Virgin Media has announced a five-year deal with Sky Sports.

In addition to the entertainment, sport and movie channels already covered by the existing deal, subscribers now have access to Sky F1 HD, Sky Sports 3 HD and Sky Sports 4 HD, with Sky Sports News HD and Sky News

I see VM confirm that Sky Sports 3 4 and F1 HD will be added to the channels of those who already have Sky Sports 1 and 2 HD for no extra charge.

Of course it will go up eventually but pleased is not immediate.

Thanks, I was wondering if SSN HD would come under the £7 premium HD charge.

Point of accuracy, Sky's revenues are up 7% for this year compared to the same period last year. Its Sky's profits which are being squeezed. But I thoroughly agree that 4K is the new HD and HD the new SD. To which I would add 3D is the new Betamax. :)

Sky sports news is already part of the basics so the HD channel will also be the same

This week?
-Sky1 +1
-Pick +1
-Sky Sports 3 HD
-Sky Sports 4 HD
-Sky Sports F1 HD

Later on
-Sky Sports News HD
-Sky News HD

If Sky1+1 and Pick1+1 were launching tomorrow, I'm sure they would have been in the press release.

I suspect the Customer Service rep got the wrong end of the stick so suggest:
Tomorrow: Sky Sports 3HD/4HD/F1HD
Later on: Sky News HD, Sky Sports News HD

That's fantastic news! Are the sources usually spot on about channel launches and deals etc? And what exactly does it mean if channels are "testing" :)

Am I just being blind, or is there not a date for these channels to launch?

"The deal includes, for the first time, Sky Sports 3, Sky Sports 4, Sky F1 and Sky Sports News, all in glorious High Definition. And, for our existing Sky Premiums HD subscribers, there is no extra cost"

You could read this as Sky Sports News HD being part of the premium Sky HD channels but hopefully not.

Official announcement on Virgin forum.

Surely the VM statement is worded wrong no way can the Sky Sports new HD channel be exclusive to the sky premium HD pack when the SD version is free to all

for the first time, Sky Sports 3, Sky Sports 4, Sky F1 and Sky Sports News, all in glorious High Definition. And, for our existing Sky Premiums HD subscribers, there is no extra cost

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2014) Vol. 2

Why wouldn't the Sky HD channels be exclusive to the Sky HD add on?

Or are you talking specifically about Sky Sports News?
