Is The Tunnel any good? I watched the Bridge and think it was the best Nordic import yet - I simply can't imagine they've come close to replacing Sofia Helin (and I have problems with the apparent jurisdictional issues). Season 2 of the Bridge is due upon us - I just feel I can do without a remake so soon. The Americans remade it as well at the USA/UMS border I think.

Have now seen the first season of the Newsroom though, and am hooked. As always quite happy to wait for the DVD release for season 2, but it is very good - and a return to form after Studio 60.

I don't want to get in to an argument about this, but you don't "have" to find it illegally - it's available on Sky for a start, and if you don't want to, or can't, subscribe to their service you can wait for them to arrive on DVD. Alternatively you could just not watch it. If you choose to watch it illegally then that's up to you, and I make no judgement, but it's because you've chosen to, and not because you've been forced.

As most of the live cricket is through the night the main hours of normal tv viewing will just be the highlights and they scatter they across the network so no need to 'rebrand' really.

Finally looking forward to my weekends of night feeds for the baby as they are tough going currently.

Seen as the most likely situation here is that you work in Retentions, I'm sure you know way more than everyone else in the whole of Virgin Media about what's going on.

You said on DS that an email came out about "bringing your football boots" to the Manchester office before BT Sports launch, until then a member of staff from the Manchester office debunked that. You have also said you have seen channels testing on the "multiplex Uploaders", so which part of VM do you work for? Or do you not?

An Virgin Insider has confirmed to me that News 18 is now set to launch on Virgin Media within the next two weeks.

No channel number was given.

It's still autumn, Paul, and will be for some weeks yet. I stand by what I have said.

All that MB has stated is that he still hasn't had any confirmation that the missing Sky channels are coming to Virgin Media yet. The position has not changed from last week.

To be honest, I would imagine that we will get little or no warning of the launch of these channels. They will just appear out of the blue.

The Now TV launch does not change anything. Obviously, Sky have been planning this for some time.

I'm not sure, but some programmes are listed as HD in TV and Satellite Week. However, there is no Sky HD channel listed, so maybe it's not on there either yet.

Wouldn't say rivalry more like handbags at dawn. Asian channel and media boy both say channels are going to launch but most of the time not much happens, you wake expecting a channel and it's not there. To be a fair media boy was right more 4 HD launch so they do get right some time. I would take what posters say with a very very big pinch of salt and not partake in the so called rivalry.

Looks quite good so far but i'm only viewing it on a 720p 32inch tv but i'm sitting pretty close and it looks decent.
Probably wont know true picture quality until the channel launches properly later on , if i get chance i'll have a quick peek and will report back if someelse hasn't beaten me to it lol. But this is screenshot.
Someone might get a better shot as my camera is pants lol.

PQ seems decent , nice to see there also using the green 'remind me' function on all the trailers allowing you to series link straight from the promo loop , I would expect the content to be part of Sky catch up also at some stage.

I see it's all kicked off again with the CF rumour clique and the DS posters!
Though while this Asian Channel guys earlier posts are probably full of holes, some of what he said is spot on about the way information is posted on here and the way people lap it up... though if what he has posted is true then he should not be posting about a VM customer if he does indeed work for VM.

Though I will probably get flamed also for this, but this style of posting from MB such 'Media Boy Exclusive' stuff and 'Media Boy Reports', doesn't do anyone any favours and in my opinion makes it look attention seeking and as if someone has too much time on their hands, (though obviously when not constantly on the phone to retentions :p: )

A lot of stuff posted is very obviously duff info which for whatever reason, but it still makes it to MB and he 'reports' it in his style now either claiming it is from insiders, rumour posters, virgin viewers... why can't it just be passed on and posted in how it was received... it's not major international news headlines were reading on here, so no need for all the hype and fanfare to appease the gullible.

There is more and more crap coming out than genuine news this last couple of months with conflicting information which has been posted on here, rogue insiders, contradictions and blatant rubbish.. it's turning it into a fantasyland thread.

No doubt will get the usual, if you don't like it don't read it retorts, but I tend to read this thread (more of skim it these days depending on the posts/poster) and pick out the wheat from the chaff.. which is getting harder by the week on this thread but there is some genuine good information being passed on to discuss by genuine people.. so I'll continue to read/post thanks.

Asian Channel, I must commend you for your excellent trolling, even if it is vulgar, unpleasant, inaccurate and very unwelcome. I am glad to see you have gotten the responses you deserve.

blue666666 - congrats sir. I can only agree with the many numbers of posters who have said you will love it.
I am not loyal to VM, but currently they offer the best package for me. If I was ever allowed Sky in my flat, and they offered me a better deal (it would have a seriously sweet deal btw) I would seriously miss the TIVO box. Wishlists are just excellent, as are suggestions. I have seen a few extra shows I would have missed other wise.

Hopefully Netflix will soon pass all the tests and when that rolls out, and along with the update, it will make the TIVO even stronger in my eyes.

One word of warning though, the original boxes needed a couple of weeks to sort themselves out and get fully operational. The newer boxes may well work better and set themselves up quicker now though.:)

I got a Samsung TiVo in June it sorted itself out within a day, in July I got a cisco TiVo for my bedroom that box is a little slower than the Samsung.

I had a Cisco Tivo first last December which turned out to be faulty , it was replaced with a Samsung Tivo and it was all sorted within a day.
