I have no interest in watching EPL football, but I'm a huge fan of the Bundesliga. I honestly only found out about Virgin losing ESPN yesterday when I went to the site to see what the coverage schedule was looking like. I can't express how angry I am about this, as ESPN is practically the only thing I bother to turn the TV on for with the exception of Test Cricket on Sky Sports. Even if Virgin negotiate a deal to show BT Sport and ESPN free of charge within the XL package, I can't help but wonder if it's going to be a repeat of the F1 channel situation where we are stuck with plain old SD.

Given that I could until now watch ESPN in HD, I am not going to be a happy camper if this is the case.

Not everyone who desires a comprehensive sports package is nuts about the Premiership. I haven't watched a game in about two years due to saturation coverage, and I wouldn't miss it one iota if it disappeared from all sports channels tomorrow. The only part of the BT Sports offering I have any interest in is ESPN, BT can keep their 'BT Sports' channels for all I care.

There was a message on TiVo message section last night saying ESPN no longer on Virgin TV from 01/08/13 and Classic/America were closing down altogether.

Yep. As its hit the crunch we have just seen a load of "my insiders tell me..." And it's absolute guesswork. Pure speculation in the hope they are almost right and they can claim to be an authority in future.

Morning all. I'm up with my pop corn ready and loud drum to bang in anger or excitement. If something is announced today it repeats what happened with ESPN being announced two days before launch.

But will it be in XL? The betting man says no. This place will explode no matter what. Cannot wait!

The messages on classic/america state they are closing down, the main espn channel states it will no longer be part of your package.

no they are not, they are negotiating or holding back announcement of a deal as has been agreed with those they are negotiating with. As has been pointed out many times here these deals are regularly announced last minute and that is not VM's fault.....................

As I have stated in previous posts think bt sport will be in VIP pack myself,glad people have stopped talking about sky Atlantic.i think we will finally see that but at the end of the year
