It ok for BT to hold back channels but when Sky do it to BT.:bigcry:

But saying that it an good job that our Cable Network do not start with an 'B' I mean Sky are 'in war' this week with The BBC and BT.:)

I'm sure if Sky offered the missing sports channels to BT you view customers direct BT wouldn't complain so long as they where available on its box. All this is where virgin now have no bargaining power, once again we have to say who ever Did the deal for the living channels etc completely had no foresight.

That's actually a fair point , at the moment there's no BT Sports available on VM , Smallworld , Talk Talk or Top up TV and its only available on the Sky platform because they can sell it direct.

A company would garner far more friends and support if it was reasonable to deal with but alas that's probably asking too much from a noted serial offender.

Until the main channels are MRS enabled, MRS remains pretty useless and a complete waste of a (very useful) USP.

I record Undercover Boss on C4 each morning, but because of recording clashes, I have to manually record it in two parts. The first part always deletes straight away as normal, but the second part can take up to a minute to delete!

I've also noticed this happen to programmes interrupted by a reboot. The first part is ok when deleting, but the second part takes ages.

Do you know why this is so (and has anybody else noticed this)?

As I have posted before the 'rubbish' channels like QVC and Smooth Radio pay Virgin Media to get onto the network.

Then Virgin reuse it to go after the good channels like ITV2 HD and Animal Planet HD.

People always seem to forget this fact though MB!! It does my head in. People just seem to want to moan for no real reason. This channel does appear to be complete dross to me and I will never watch it, but why moan, where does that get anyone? If leads to the "Holy Grail" that is Sky Atlantic, or a cheaper option for BT Sports whats the problem?:mad:

Keep up the good work and letting us know what is happening MB, I for one would not know what launches and when if it were not for you:)

What Policy is that? I'm sure we've been over this before, but the last "official" word from VM was that Sky offered it to VM at a price that they didn't think was of value.

It will come eventually, just a matter of changes to circumstances...

I'm probably being pedantic, but there's a difference between withholding and overcharging. Agreed, the end result is the same.

I still think VM will come up with a bargaining chip of sorts, which may force Sky to rethink their policy / costs.

The bargaining chip is that VM are allowing Sky the use of their broababnd system for overflow

Hardly surprising considering BSKYB are paying Virgin Media £49 million for the luxury , its a business deal good news for both parties.

I'm not sure why people connect the deal for Sky to buy backhaul from VM with the possibility of more Sky channels appearing on VM TV.

Sky buys backhaul from other suppliers too, most notably BT. It hasn't made them any more keen to supply them with Sky Sports has it?

The story has no connection with TV channels whatsoever.

Your too quick at replying , I deleted my post you've quoted as I didn't word it very well , I'm sure the deal is purely one for backhaul capacity between Sky and VM Business however deals like this can't do relations between the two any harm hopefully bringing more deals to fruition , I guess we'll have to wait and see. :)

Seems Blighty's EPG info stops on DigiGuide at the start of the month (all other UKTV channels listing as normal), so looks like Drama is a replacement, so high chance we will get this!

Blighty is no longer listed on the UKTV website. Drama seems to have taken it's place. I assume that Drama will be a direct swap for Blighty across all TV platforms.

Cool! I am really looking forward to seeing Drama come to Virgin; they have some really classic dramas such as Auf Wiedersehen Pet and Lark Rise to Candleford which would be nice to see return to TV. Good to see Blighty close; some of their shows are repeats from the other UKTV channels.

I have also seen that Yesterday is becoming a completely factual channel (which it should have been, anyway) and I think all dramas will move over to Drama.

Well here's a novel idea Dave, perhaps Virginmedia should pay out all that money up front to purchase channels and /or sport's events (as Sky and BT have) then it to would have the right to withhold those channels....... but we all know that will never happen so lets keep blaming the "bad guys"...

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 2.

Yes, but would you be happy if Virgin forked out loads of money for the channels and then put the prices up for customers to pay for them? No? Thought not.

Jameseh 21-06-2013 12:04

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 2.

To be fair BT have forked out millions yet just put a quid on the line rental, something we will most likely get in the next price rise anyway.

Plus there are still a boatload of non-sports content they could get for far cheaper, but no.

My own view is The adult channels should be after the radio channels - From Channel 970.

But Virgin will not do it so that why I have put Sports and News channels before we get to the Kids Channels as some of the kids know Virgin have got the channels they love on Channels 7-- mark right now.
