Nothing of any interest to me on the terrestrial channels, so I have been bingeing on The Punisher series on Disney+.

The Punisher is part of an overlapping series of Marvel characters called the Defenders, originally commissioned by Netflix about 10 years ago. Look out also for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Daredevil and Iron Fist. There is also a one-off season actually called The Defenders featuring all of them.

If you want to see the broader story unfold in the correct order you have to know what order the different seasons were originally dropped … helpfully we have an internet for that:

I’ve not checked but I believe all of these transferred to Disney+ at the same time and should all still be there.

WW2 with Tom Hanks has been very informative. The programme is full of interesting facts that I had never heard before.

It has held my attention, especially after skipping the long intro. It does bounce back and forth in time, but so many things were happening at the same time, so it was an unnecessary editing decision.

You should have a go at The World at War, that has 26.:D

It’s still epically good, and benefits from on-camera interviews with people who were there. The only facet of the story that’s missing is the details of how the codebreaking was done, because that was still classified until the late 1980s, and even after that many of the people involved took years to be persuaded to actually talk about it.

You can find it to stream for free on on U and Channel 4. I watched it all late last year. Highly recommended. :tu:
