Cable Forum - [Update] The UK votes to leave the EU

I'm just hoping this result doesn't lead to an increase in racist attitudes.

Obviously voting Leave does not make someone racist but there are a LOT of thick people out there who will see this as a green light to be hostile towards anyone they don't consider 'British'.

It does according to the remain camp.

It won't. Brexit has never been racist, despite the In campaign trying to paint them with that brush. I doubt that you can find a dictionary anywhere where 'control' means 'hate' or 'racist'.

The referendum isn't binding, just advisory to Parliament.

The pound has slumped as predicted, so I believe that the PM will say that this shows the vote was wrong.

I think that Cameron will then go back to get a better deal, even though the EU said that they wouldn't entertain this.

Europe cannot afford to let us go, because if we do leave Europe, this may encourage other countries to do so and the whole thing could well collapse.

I agree however it appears many racist, anti-immigration and far right people/groups will regard this as a victory for their cause and almost legitimising their views.
