Oh I know den, I am going take advantage of this break by doing all the little odd jobs around the house that need doing. Like defrosting the freezer. Organising the cupboards better, at the moment I just chuck stuff in and think deal with it later. Now it is chaos in there. Not even organsied chaos.

If it were me I'd take advantage by getting down the post office sorting depot and working there till Christmas...

In a seriously bad mood after the evacuation of the cinema at Gunwharf Quays due to a dredged up WW2 bomb in Portsmouth Harbour. Couldn't go home due to the ferries home being cancelled as well. Ended up catching a bus all the way round to Fareham which took an hour and 20 minutes before another 30 minute bus journey home.

How many hotels does London need, two of my favourite places, the aussie bar in shepards bush and now this, both to make way for poxy hotels

Work, taking the absolute Michael with holidays. Been promised on 4 different days this week already that I would get an email by that evening. But none come through. Ugh. At this rate I'm going to lose my 14 days holiday entitlement.

And they wonder why I am looking for a new job, it is almost as though they want me out.

Companies that send goods out by a trackable carrier but dont tell you they have so the carrier has wasted journeys.

Lots of other small things Hugh, this is the latest in a long line of incidents. If it wasn't for the fact I can't claim benefits for 3 years I would have resigned a long time ago.

Sometimes short term annoyances can lead to long term benefits - working looks good on your CV, and makes your more employable, which is a virtuous circle.

I have been working away from home through the week for the last six months, but doing this job led to a permanent job near my home, which I start on Monday.

Sometimes (and it isn't easy) we just have to suck it up, and look to the long term.

It's all true, plus there are always good points to any job. When I was 16 I got a job at the ford plant in Dagenham building a new canteen, when the job was over I had nothing else to do so when they offered me the washer up job in the canteen I took it. Was a crap job, possibly the worst I've ever had but lunch there was great, you just have to concentrate on the good parts of the job that you like rather than the negative.

The only positive I can get from the job (apart from the experience on my CV) is the money. But I will go back to work after Christmas with a more positive attitude and see if I can make more positives at work for me to look forward to.

Just be extra sure to fully isolate the electricity, don't just rely on the individual circuit breaker / fuse but turn off the whole panel. Naturally turn off the water.

Meant to put this is in here a week ago, but my diabetes has really got bad. I have the first signs of kidney failure, and been told if I cannot get my diabetes under control, I'll need to start injecting at least 3 times a day and need a kidney transplant before 40.
