Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Punky, can you tell me just what that link has downloaded onto my PC ?
If I visit other forums and click on video links on those I am getting the same effect, just returns to the original page. Not to happy about it.:( Have rebooted and run a reg cleaner, I can now access video links on other pages but I am still getting a flash of the original page before it loads. Funny thing is I can now get that clip to run????? Originally whenever I clicked it I just got returned to the post. Even clicking on the link in the e-mail notification just returned me to the e-mail. Very strange, any link I click on now clears the screen, then flashes the original screen before loading the new target. Any suggestions as to why this has suddenly happened. |
Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Might want to run a hijackthis, adaware and spybot scan just in case but I can't see Punkster putting a link up that would install anything nasty. Will check the link though.
Just tried the link and nothing there but a WMV file. Might want to run a few scans in case something else has sneaked in from another site but Gav's link is clean as far as I can see. |
Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Both of my recent links were direct to the .WMV file...? It shouldn't have prompted you to download anything executable.
Which link gave you trouble? As Paul said, i'd never post a link to containing anything iffy, but I posted that using an Apple Mac and Firefox, so might not have noticed... |

Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Also, that fast.wmv link is to a promo file direct on a professional comedian's site, so even more unlikely you would get a virus from there.

Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Running a full scan here and 60,000 files in nothing found. What browser were you running when you downloaded the file/ clicked the link Iadom??

Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Very strange, never had any problems with wmv files before, it may just be a coincidence and be something awry with my version of Media Player. I can now access the file and it plays perfectly but now whenever I open any WMV files from a forum link I get the flash return to the original page before it loads. Run a full scan, HJT etc, nothing found. very odd.
I actually visited the web site and ran other files from there without any problems. |
Re: [MERGED] Funny video clips
Tried a new WMP install? Might put right any corruptions etc.

Mod edit (Chris T): If you need to post a warning about the language, don't post the link at all. That video is not suitable.
