If true, I wouldn't expect them to turn down that kind of money, but it would be good if they did.

Yes its a lot of money to turn down and one would think the vast majority would accept this lucrative deal.

Guess that depends what'd be on offer via a collaboration with JC on another channel.

The thing is though even though TG audiences are down BBC will still get a considerably bigger audience then anywhere else so if it was me l would go where l think the most people are likely to see me.

Boxing's a classic example of the opposite. Far more money in PPV and to hell with the miniscule worldwide audience.

And then there is this bit.

However, talk of such big money deals has already prompted concern, particularly as it comes just days after Danny Cohen, the BBC's director of television, warned that money was tight and that further financial pressures would mean "less content" for viewers and fewer shows commissioned.
You can bet if they have to get rid of any of the managers they will get a big fat severance package however

Personally i hope netflix offers them more money so that Hammond and May can stick two fingers up at the BBC.

However, Top Gear brings in £50 million a year to BBC Worldwide, so it seems a sensible investment for that sort of payback.....
