I haven't used a V+ but as long as I can 'request' a channel change without having to make a cuppa before the actual change, then that's good. :D

TiVo = Smart phone for TV, "Bloody hell! You can watch telly on it as well!":D

Re: TiVo
Reading all and considering what has been said within the threads. What disappoints me with this service, is that fact that VM's current V+ HD customers have already paid for their boxes and installation fees. In addition, the current V+ service isn't (to my mind) working as efficiently as it could, E.g with technical problems associated with: unexpected re-boots, picture pixelation, etc.

Now VM expects these loyal customers to pay through the nose again for a similar service that hasn't been technically proven on their infrastructure?

Okay, so these guinea pigs pays the £100+ for installation etc and then as a consequence end up with a flaky service, coupled with the hassle of loads of phone calls to a third world technical support service - yeah I can really see existing customers dashing out to get one of these.

Lets hope not all of us are that gullible!

Si thee

i must agree i got v+hd last xmas.overall picture is okay,no problems with the STB itself, but i will not join the tivo revolution.i have already paid for a good service,in fact i expect it.why should i pay out again.i feel no need to have the latest gadget,so i can brag to my mates, and send them to sleep(think sky 3D). good luck to anyone gullible(sp) to pay out for this tivo, but i will not be with you

Will the TiVo allow recorded programmes to be transferred from the HDD? To, say, another computer, or even a mobile phone?

Virgin don't expect customers do anything

Virgin are offering people a choice. Those that want to upgrade, can. Those that don't want to, don't have to

But they want to transition everyone over to the TiVo in two years. Surely that's force?

Wasn't talking about those plans, for which we have zero concrete details. Who knows, they may swap all the boxes out for free - but until they announce exactly what is happening it's all speculation

I was talking, as I believe was chris123, about the premium TiVo service that was announced.

If VM ring you about installing TIVO, do they use an 0800 number and if so does anyone know what it is?

It's just that I have so many 0800 numbers blocked on my phone that I just want to make sure that I haven't inadvertantly blocked them in the past.

Just been through to the Indian call centre and asked for the latest info. . .

She said it would be a one off payment of £145 inc fitting (I'm on XL Tv) but that I wont be contacted before Jan 1st. :(

Cant be sure how reliable the info was but it did sound like she was reading it from a script.
