I think we all know they are the poor relations, went to buy something and got refused, yet the Neighbour with the new dish gets accepted everywhere.

Don't believe everything you read, Arthur. It is nothing to do with a cheque, it is a technical issue. The channels will be here soon enough.

By the way, how much would you be prepared to pay for Sky Atlantic? Whatever figure you truthfully come up with, Sky want more.

I'm as disappointed as everyone else that the ITV HD Channels dont appear to be launching today.

But ... the source was correct - the channels were due to launch today .Virgin's website even announced their launch today as part of the XL pack.

So they ARE coming and it has been confirmed- we've waited this long so a little longer isn't such a big deal really.

Lets just put it like this, if it was a subscription channels and they charged 5p extra a month, I still wouldn't pay it.

Which would explain why VM don't go out of their way to announce new channel arrivals in advance. Any unforeseen delay gets this reaction...

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2013) Vol. 1.

I remember ntl: announced a broadband timetable in various locations some years back. The initial trail in Farnborough hit problems and they had to delay it all. Toys out of the pram at nuclear scale !

Since then ntl:/VM will not officially announce anything until the deal is done and dusted and everything is ready to go. Suffice to say if the launch was cancelled after VM announced it, it will have been something unforeseen and genuine.

However one recalls to mind the words of the great philosopher Michael Winner:- Calm Down Dear, it's only a TV channel.

Bad news for WWE fans.

WWE WrestleMania 29 will cost £17.95 on Sky Box Office on April 7th.

I for one will be paying just to watch The Rock VS Cena.

I don't mind, the yanks have to pay about £40 every PPV and I'm surprised its been as low (in comparison) for years. If only we could get the events in HD too...

Well its not just that MB as the Boxing on Sky is starting to go PPV again so the slogan should be Sky believe in greed rather then Sky believe in better.:td::(

If the ITV on demand programmes that are not on catch up are going behind a paywall, hopefully VM will secure a deal to enable XL viewers to watch the programmes free. VM will need as many incentives as possible to keep their XL customers when BT take over from ESPN.

WWE WrestleMania 29 will cost £17.95 on Sky Box Office on April 7th.

I for one will be paying just to watch The Rock VS Cena.

That's a £3.00 jump on the usual price. I can see Froch Vs. Kessler II costing the same in May.

Wouldn't be so bad if you could record the broadcast to your TiVo or V+ box to watch again. Also wouldn't be so bad if SKY made SKY Box Office HD available on Virgin at that price.

Greed!

Q & A on Disney Cinemagic.

Q: WILL I NEED TO WATCH MY DISNEY CINEMAGIC PROGRAMMES ON MY V+ OR TIVO BOX BY MARCH 27TH?

A: No Virgin Media viewers have until June 28th to watch recorded Disney Cinemagic programmes.

But every USP has a limited shelf life. Surely Sky realise that? There must come a point when they've flogged a dead donkey (albeit a lively appealing one!) to those sitting on the fence.

If I were Sky, I would draw a line under it and be happy to have used Atlantic to draw in many new customers and and bring some over from other providers. Now it's time to get the channel out to as many people as possible, to gain additional advertising revenue and carriage costs.

Holding on to HD variations as exclusives might still be appealing enough for some to think about joining or moving.

To be fair, Sky have good reason not to draw the line under it while they can see an obvious demand for Sky Atlantic on other platforms. They only have to look on here to see that the demand is there and they, most likely, see that as potential customers for their own platform.

The other option is to offer the channel to VM at a very high rate and attempt to force VM to raise the price of the XL package. Then they can sit back and wait to gain VM customers annoyed at such a large price increase.

You mean if the outcomes weren't determined prior to the event, because the wrestling is most certainly real.

Well said Jameseh:) Sports entertainment. Are movies real? No, story is predetermined doesn't mean it's not entertaining. Many sports like snooker and horse racing have been know to be fixed at least WWE is up front about it.

There have been plenty of real injuries suffered in the ring. There has even been a fatality in the ring, so apart from the outcomes being scripted in advance and they train to do the moves properly there is always a chance they pick up real injuries in the ring.

And just because you don't like it, don't start the old wrestling is fake rubbish. There are plenty of us who like watching it.

And an answer would make it happen sooner, how?

Other people have said this, but it's people moaning on and on when something gets delayed that puts off VM announcing things in advance.

Time for some people to grow up IMHO.

I guess it's ITV's content and they want to make money out of it, but it's a loss to Virgin's on demand offering, especially as it now doesn't appear that there is likely to be any uktv content coming.

Virgin have the best platform to offer on demand programming, but appear to have come away from investing in it in favour of bulking up their channel packages.

But clearly they haven't here try and read the link , ITV OD content is available on Sky , Netflix and BT Vision so ask ITV and VM what the situation is.

Who knows the ITV content could be linked with a deal for the additional ITV HD channels.
