Hi

Can you let me know what the examples are which you quote.

The first problem could be down to the programme not having the correct EPG data - it will normally avoid recording duplicates of the same episode.

I have not come across any instances where series links are not offered as an option. What is the programme?

I think you are right about the EPG data because the description of each episode, whether new or a repeat, is exactly the same so TiVo sees them all as different episodes. Bit of a bummer now that I'm going to have a cluttered recordings page!

For the program that cannot be recorded as a series link, it is called Bhagowali which comes on Zee TV at 14:00. TiVo finds upcoming episodes of it but it doesn't allow me to record the show as a series. This is frustrating as my V+ Box records it as a series but there were some shows that my V+ couldn't identify as a series but TiVo can! Crazy!

Silly Question - how do you stop playback of a recording, pressing stop just takes the screen to preview window ?

Press Pause, then Stop. That'll keep you in the My Shows menu. ;)

Do you mean that TiVo sees them all as the same episodes? I was confused at first that TiVo seemed to be set to record multiple showings of the same episodes of my series links, but I think it just finds all the episodes in case there is a clash or cancellation. I haven't had anything recorded more than once yet, even though TiVo shows as planning to record 3 or more of the same episodes in the same week.

Well I'll find out in the morning to see how many episodes TiVo records. A new episode is on at 21:30 and a repeat of the same episode is on in the early hours of the morning. I am thinking it will record the repeat because nothing appears in the Recording Hiccups section about an episode not recording due to the same episode already being recorded within 28 days (or something along those lines) because this is stated for other series links that I have set.

If you see what I mean? :D

I find this dosent always work. A triple recording and watching live tv, meant i had to cancel a recording of the Mentalist, which i know is repeated, but it didnt pick it up. Perhaps because the repeat is on another channel (5 and 5*)?

I had my Tivo fitted today at long last. I'm very impressed so far. Great to have as much hard drive space as I am ever likely to need and three active tuners and I like being able to view youtube on the tv. I was a bit concerned that youtube would have a lot of missing content but I searched for some things I have watched in the past on my ipod touch and they were all there. As for picture quality, the match on ITV HD this evening looked superb, I think slightly better than the V+. SD pq is to close to call compared to the V+. I would really need to do an A-B comparison with both boxes connected but it's not a problem on my plasma tv.
So far so good, my only negative comment would be that we need more apps.
