Maybe VM wouldn't pay much or even anything for it, then, following the low viewing figures, the owner relented and it came to VM??

It obviously didn't have much of an impact on the viewing figures!

Cable subscribers are a very discerning bunch of characters, of course. :smokin:

I like TRUTV USA as it has shows like impractical jokers on it.

You do realise that the programme is also on the terrestrials over here, don't you, theone? But yes, it sounds better than our version of Tru TV - a bit like our Comedy Central, presumably.

We have recieved info from our sources regarding UHD on VM.
UHD will start arriving on VM early 2017 exclusively for customers on the v6 box, the prices are rumoured as follows those on top tv pack will get UHD content inclusive with the exception of sports and movies UHD where a additional charge will apply.
Those on other tv packs can recieve UHD for a small monthly fee, sports and movies in UHD will be extra.
For now there will be no UHD on the vm online tv service which will get a overhaul later in 2017.

By sports do they mean but sport or sky sports, why overhaul something just launched

As do comedy central on a daily basis.
Regarding impractical jokers the US version is exclusive to comedy central in uk i believe the uk version is on 5, the uk version is poor they just do not click like the US guys do.
Then again the US guys have been friends for a very long time, the Uk ones were just thrown together by viacom.

I'm not clear about this, theone. Do you mean....

1. UHD films will appear on Netflix from early 2017

2. UHD sport will be delivered via a Eurosport app (as I don't believe that a deal is available from Sky or BT yet)

3. The early non film/sport UHD programming will be arriving via conventional channels

4. More UHD including Virgin exclusives will be delivered via on demand following the overhaul in late 2017.

Is that what you were trying to say? Are we not going to be able to access that special Netflix UHD £7 per month special offer that was referred to earlier on this forum?

We're trying to get more info but it's sketchy at the moment, we're thinking vm could be launching their own movie service won't exactly rival sky but it'll be ok.
Either that or as you suggested netflix uhd content or possibly sky movies uhd?
We was told vms online tv service tv anywhere? is getting a overhaul in 2017 too.
You'll have to excuse meifi'm confusing anyone as on the old jd.

I think it is pushing up the price of TV but it's great news for consumers who are prepared to shop around. SKY and Virgin have been offering some crazy deals to new customers. I've had my TV for SKY for nearly 4 years at 50%, or more, off. Look at this mental offer they e-mailed me earlier today.

https://www.cableforum.co.uk/images/...12/1.jpg:large

50% off my TV package for the next 5 years without any contract. Cancel when I want and I don't even have to confirm I accept the offer, it's already applied to my account. I don't currently have SKY Sports or SKY Cinema but if I add them, they automatically go on at 50% off too. The only TV things that are not 50 % off are HD and multiroom.

I'm not the only person to receive this offer. A woman at my work got the same e-mail last week. She's had 50% off her TV for the past 10 months. I thought she must have read it wrong as I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere else.

Looks like SKY are at it again. My free broadband deal was due to expire towards the end of January. My bills for February and March showed a price increase of £7.50 which is the current rate for SKY's 17mb broadband. I've already been shopping around looking at the best broadband deals on the market in view of switching. On Friday I missed a call from SKY. Just checked my SKY package online, and my future bills, and it no longer shows my free broadband offer coming to an end next month. It looks like my broadband will continue to be free when my current contract ends.
