They did win the Ford Sporting League once, paid for a whole new stand at the time but they are only the third team in my affections behind United and The Dale.;)

And they did stuff West Ham 6-0 in a cup semi whilst still in the old division 2.:p:

In fact considering the Latics have spent most of the last 50 odd years in the lower divisions their record against West Ham is not that bad.

That was more than ten years ago, I was a mere lad at the time, I was at the second leg, we wheeled an aging but still world record transfer breaking goalkeeper Phil parks out, care to refresh my memory of the score that day?

3-0 if memory serves , I think we sent out the youth team that day and still won the tie 6-3.:D

PS. I. did once see the ex Hammers legend Bobby Moore in a Fulham side that took a pasting at Boundary Park.:)

I don't think they did put out a youth team, away from that plastic pitch there was every chance a youth team would've got more of mauling than just three. Shame about what happened in the final to

Final was a poor game TBH, Forest not great but good enough. Enjoyed my day out at old Wembley though, stayed with my brother in Woking and went together. :)

I would take him at United, but we've been linked with so many players I wouldn't be surprised if this is just another rumour.

I think he is a really under rated player, he does everything you could want from a centre mid very well
