Bits for the new car

Namely £90 car mats front and rear, front have a Focus badge.

A 8l pump bottle as I don't have hose access, just gave the wheels a quick clean.

Next week a complete self valet.

200mm trunk diameter, so should last you a couple of life times. lol

If the council lets you keep them... ours take away all cut wood to sell-on.

Cherry wood goes for at least £3 per kilo.... a lot more if it's cut or shaved. You
could be sitting on a goldmine....

The hardest bit will be getting shot of the old tiles I reckon. :erm:

Tile over them... it saves a lot of grief...

Interesting you should say that Taff because I was planning on doing exactly that around the bath but having done some reading on the subject it appears that the recommended maximum weight that a plastered substrate can bear is 20kg per sq m. which equates to roughly the weight of 1 sq m of 8mm ceramic tile plus adhesive. In other areas I wouldn't do it because of the adverse impact on skirting, dado rails/architrave etc. but on the single 1.8m x 1.9m wall to one side of the bath I was considering it as it'd have no such impact and the extra 1cm depth wouldn't be a problem. The 6x8 inch tiles there seem sound and level but I'm now just a bit worried about taking the chance for such a small area - don't want any of the new 16x10 inch tiles falling down on anyone in the bath... :erm:

Anyway I've been busily removing the tiles on one of the walls today and have been putting my Bosch electric scraper to good use getting rid of the old tile adhesive. They're quite well adhered and have taken some shifting in places which is making my decision about the above issue that little bit more complicated. Just to make matters worse as usual, there's loads of conflicting advice on which adhesive to use also... :spin:

It can depend onto what surface you are applying them. Plasterboard may need sealing, waterboard is already waterproofed, new plaster needs sealing, old plaster may need dustproofing (mist coating)...

A waterproof PVA coating (watered down) is a good idea for all surfaces IMHO, as it stops the tile adhesive/mortar from drying too quickly.

I prefer ready mixed tile adhesive as it's too easy to get the mix wrong with powders.

Around the bath and above the sink, it's worth considering quadrant tile edging, stuck with it's own special adhesive which will allow slight movement as the bath dips when filled.

It comes in ceramic or PVC http://www.diy.com/departments/diall..._Trims_S_BSA_D

It's plaster skim over a rendered breeze block wall. I've always used readymixed tile & grout before and like that type of product. I've actually used the quadrant before and will do so again as it gives a nice neat finish. We have a heavy duty German steel bath and movement hasn't been an issue in all the years we've had it.

Can't wait to try my tile cutter. Gone are the days of carbide hand saws, nibblers etc. :)

By heck you are rather in a jovial mood this morning papa ;) as yes its a foot stool to rest my legs on as it is good at reducing the fluid and discomfort in my swollen ankles.

Premium Bonds, pointless leaving the cash where it was with no interest at all.
