I think they are both upscaled - not HD source.

BBC have them as HD on iPlayer apparently - so not impossible for them Sky Glass to be using the same IP feed

DS Forum is reporting that two HD Channels are testing on Sky at "11.494 H".

I have look up DBR to find that QVC Channels broadcasting on that stream.

So is QVC and QVC Beauty is to launch in HD on Sky and Virgin Media?

Any news on the future of BT Sport? Last I heard, DAZN were in advanced talks to purchase BT outright, but I feel Disney/ESPN might hijack the deal.

This in The Guardian today:

Quote:

BT is in talks with the Premier League as it enters the final stage of offloading its sports TV business, with possible deals from streaming service Dazn and US pay-TV giant Discovery under discussion at the telecoms giant’s monthly board meeting on Wednesday.

Dazn, the “Netflix for sport” that has made no secret of its desire to secure crown jewel Premier League rights to ignite its streaming business in the UK, has been positioned as the favourite since BT began exploring strategic options for BT Sport last April.

However, Eurosport owner Discovery, which has expressed interest in Premier League rights in the past and has a £920m deal for the TV rights to the Olympics across Europe, is considered to still be in contention.

‘more than 20 channels’ was cited in an ISP report as well, so this must have come from Virgin Media itself. I presumed that this wasn’t a complete list, despite the words immediately preceding it.

So if you already subscribe to those channels, you'll get a discount ? ;)

If you skip back 4 pages to when Media Boy originally broke the news you would be able to see the link to the actual Virgin Media press release. It did indeed suggest more than 20 channels before going on to list 18 of the 19 which currently have free to view access. The original version actually listed all 19 channels but Virgin seem to have got a bit confused and put the wrong channel on free to view for a while. That channel is now removed from the press release as if it was never there. The wrong channel numbers listed seem to have been corrected too. I think Media Boy pasted from the original version if you wish to refer back. All in a day's work. ;)

I wonder if this is to try and appease people as they receive their bill increase notifications?

Virgin Media O2 now says:

Cheers, I wasn't quite prepared to spend that much time on this issue. But your comparison shows that the channel number errors had been corrected and that, what they refer to as, SAB TV has been removed. Initially, SONY TV HD on 805 was available to all. This later reverted to normal subscription packs and was replaced with SONY SAB on channel 807 becoming available to all. So it now seems that everything is as originally intended, errors have been corrected but the number of channels has been miscounted.

Only if they don't notice the channels will only available to everyone for a month.

A reminder of the official source:

https://news.virginmediao2.co.uk/vir...no-extra-cost/

Saying 'more than 20' channels then listing 18, and with the SD/HD/+1 variants of the same channel taken out it is actually only 12 channels 😂
