Re: The Apple iPad Thread
This is what a newspaper should look like on a tablet...
The Guardian - iPad edition (iOS5 Newsstand) None of this "just sell them a scan of our paper/magazine" that some publishers apparently do, the Guardian iPad edition is a proper iPad-oriented version of the newspaper. £9.99 per month (which certainly beats paying £1.20 per weekday and £2.10 per Saturday for the print edition). And... the first three months are free for everyone! :) Print subscribers also get the iPad edition for free as part of their subscription. |
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Agreed.
However, I get the Times, and that has been optimised for the iPad, rather than just "adapted" (£8.80 per month for Times, Sunday Times, and access to the online versions). |
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
That's quite good that it lets you behind the paywall too.
The Times - iPad £9.99 now, presumably just new customers. |
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
It's cheaper if you buy it from the Times direct.....
|
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Ah, I assume as that avoids Apple taking a slice from the cost? :)

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Looking forward to IOS5, but it's just not worth losing the jailbreak for it. I'll wait till there is an untethered jailbreak before considering updating, by then they'll hopefully iron out most of the bugs.

Re: The Apple iPad Thread
I am a Times subscriber. I do prefer The Guardian's design however. More fitting to the tablet than The Times which is a copy of the paper design.

I'm just glad that Apple didn't release an iPad 3 six months after the iPad 2 like many people claimed would happen. Quote:
I never bothered Jailbreaking my iPad, although my iPhone was Jailbroken. Losing the Jailbreak on that, in exchange for iOS5, wasn't a problem for me as iOS5 now does most of what I used to Jailbreak for (e.g. notifications which don't suck), plus when I get a new contract in a couple of months I'll get a new one with tethering included so won't need MyWi any more (which I rarely used anyway). |
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Has anyone tried browsing the web using mirroring on Apple TV? Seems a really useful feature.
|
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
I can't justify an Apple TV to myself. I want one for iPad mirroring, but don't need one for anything else as I can already stream a variety of video formats to my 360 & PS3. I do like the idea of having one with XBMC running though, and controlling it with the iPad...
---------- Post added at 00:29 ---------- Previous post was at 00:27 ---------- Oh, some updated numbers, now Apple has released its latest quarterly results: Total number of iPads sold so far: 39.85 million Number of iPads sold in Apple's most recently reported quarter = 11.12 million Number of iPads sold in Apple's previous quarter = 9.25 million The "tablet market" is still effectively just the "iPad market" at the moment. |
Re: The Apple iPad Thread
Anybody here with an iPad and the Korg iMS-20 app / emulator?

Add another one sold to those figures as I've just bought an iPad2 32GB Wi-Fi / 3G. Lets see what this thing can do then... |
