Re: [Update] Windows 10 Discussion

I updated my ASUS Laptop to Windows 11 last night. All went smoothly, but very slowly. I counted 4 reboots. (Just under 2 hours)

Windows 11 cannot be installed on most systems with processors over 4 years old. Don't worry. In my view, apart from better functionality and a nice appearance Windows 11 isn't going to add much to your set up.

it will be adding more features over time. I await the natively running android apps so not more bloat filled emulators

IIRC Older systems may be able to have Win 11 installed. As long as they have a TPM module socket on the motherboard and you install a TPM module on it. Newer processors have TPM functionality built into them.

its because the majority of current computers will not run Win 11 mY 3 Year old laptop Has no chance , ok there are workrounds but most people will not be able to do that

Local well known Computer shop offering to Sell you a new one with free upgrade and a very very Small Trade in on old one almost Robbery.

as long as your machine has TPM 1.2 then you can upgrade with a reg hack M$ gave out. It most certainly is not a money grab from M$ imo

Too many still on W10. I'm certainly not throwing away a good pc to 'upgrade'.

Dude111 13-07-2026 20:11

People should be careful taking any updates at this point.. I wouldnt put it past M$ to send out stuff to make the PC not work as well to try and force ppl to the newer OS! (They have done stuff like that before)

Yes same, I hardly use the PC now so it's staying on Windows 10.
