I am about to drive my wife to the gym (which is part of a local hotel).

While she is attending the yoga class, I will be in the bar upstairs, watching the rugby, and she will join me afterwards for a meal.

Some beer may be taken....

I would turn up early regardless of it possibly being a 9:30am appointment.

Good luck with the interview, what is the position on offer.

That looks interesting which one did you go for the 10 minute or the 35 minute spa.

its actually 15 minutes for £10, beats spending loads of money for expensive treatments, and the results are fantastic :D

After 3 days my system restore is within sight of the finishing line, just a few tweaks to sort.

Best of all is the Media Centre Extender between my PC and XBox now works and I can stream music to the xbox, now to work on the video.

Stuart 08-02-2011 17:38

Re: The Happy Thought Thread Part 4

Finally, after two months work, quite a lot of stress and a few near arguments at work, myself and two colleagues have finished the first version of a new system at work. It's basic (at the moment - we have a lot of ideas for functionality we can add to it), but it's ready for testing.

Also, it should eventually mean I can disable an old system that has (in many ways) been the bane of my life, and was used because while it didn't quite fit our needs, we needed something quickly, didn't have time to develop something from scratch (time we have now made) and it fulfilled most of our needs.

Actually, in fairness, the old system was fine for what it was designed for. It had a few flaws, but it was perfectly usable. Those flaws are, of course, not present in the new system.

The best part is that the department who we got the old system from (actually, one of our ex-staff members wrote it for them) possibly wants to use a copy of our new system, which could mean chargeable work (and therefore money) for me, and the two colleagues who I developed the system with. Apparently, they are in the same position we were. The old system works fine, and fitted their needs when it was designed, but doesn't entirely fulfill their needs now.

Now I just have the stress of letting users on to it..

We stayed at the Coconut Beach Club, which is mainly for couples, rather than families.

Didn't do much, actually - chilled out mainly, went round St Johns (not much there), Shirley Heights, Dickenson Bay.

I'm studying this while listening to this and in between procrastinating with forums.

Which is nice.

Amen that man. :D

Congrats to Dilli and Nat.

I feel very fortunate with my life at the moment. Good job, wonderful girlfriend, loving family. All I need is a couple more pieces to slot into place and it'll be perfect. :)

I can't think I've ever been happier than when I went down to wake our youngest this morning and he was OK. We had to call an ambulance to him last night as he's suffered a prolonged seizure and we were very concerned about him because his emergency medication was taking ages to work. Thankfully, he seems back to normal now (touch wood), if a little groggy still, and as I type he's listening to the theme from The Snowman on YouTube with a beaming smile on his angelic face that'd melt anyone's heart.... :)

My toe is now all healed up :)

Foot is still broken though, so I am now in an air cast which is interesting, at least I can now have a bath :)

edit - it is one of these ones....

Oh I love all the happy news in the tread to-day even if I don't understand Hom3r's. :D

My happiness is that Riley, our 1 year old RSPCA rescue cat, having been with us now for 4 weeks had his very first taste of fresh air this morning and although it seems that he has never set foot out doors before he only ran back to me for reassurance a few times. LOL the look on his face when a bird flew over his head was priceless, and walking on wet grass!!!!! we knew he liked playing with water but wet grass had him almost drooling with glee, he was bouncing about like a spring lamb. :D

You know I just realised I have never seen, or heard, him do the normal bird watching things that all our other mogs have done. He just sits watching them at our feeders, I always assumed that wanting to catch birds was an instinct that cats were born with but Riley seems to be heading in the same direction as your Molly. :)

She does the mouth thing but if they start screeching she dives for cover.:)

An environmentally aware feline you have there.. :)

Our last cat was an expert bird killer sadly and used to make the weirdest 'cack, cack, cack, cack, cack' sound whenever he spotted one.

Thank you :)
I have to think about what I'm doing next.
I can stack shelves, pull pints, work a till, understand IT and...?
Preparing my food plot and looking at cruises, listening to music ATM :D

I know that feeling Caff :hugs: The first time I retired I was happy that the stress and pressure I was under was ending but had a sense of loss knowing that I would loose that close working relationship with my colleagues several of whom I had come to feel were friends.

:erm: That retirement didn't last 6 months but now, several years down the line, I have decided to try to work harder at being retired. Although the money is very welcome I found that I was begrudging the time I had to spend to earn it. I thought I would never want to retire but I have changed my mind, the sense of freedom I felt when I handed over this last set of canvases on Monday was fantastic. :D

So enjoy your retirement you have earned it. :)

Thanks All. :)
I loved that job for decades but it got to be more than I could handle :(.
I get to hand in my pass card, make a donation to the PTA and drive off into the sunset on a pretty neat bike with a pretty neat biker. I'll try my best not to throw a fork.
Oh and I have to pay £326 for a laptop that went missing from my room.
I'll forget the fork and just ride away :)
