I think it has been mentioned previously that a new Quantum Leap was in the works. This is now confirmed for the 2022-2023 tv season and a bit more information is provided below:

Quote:

Now, nearly 30 years later, it looks like the mystery of what happened to Sam Beckett could be solved. While some outlets are calling this a “reboot”, it’s more of a “sequel” as there are definitely some story connections to the original. According to NBC, “It’s been 30 years since Dr. Sam Beckett stepped into the Quantum Leap accelerator and vanished. Now a new team has been assembled to restart the project in the hopes of understanding the mysteries behind the machine and the man who created it.

This is serendipitous because I was thinking about this this morning and how long it has been since I have watched it:

Quote:

The “True Lies” series adaptation has been ordered at CBS for the 2022-2023 broadcast season.

The series order comes after the show was originally ordered to pilot at CBS in February 2021 before it was pushed off-cycle for consideration during this year’s pilot season.

In the series, an unfulfilled suburban housewife (Ginger Gonzaga) is shocked to discover that her bland and unremarkable computer consultant husband (Steve Howey) is a skilled international spy. She is propelled into a life of danger and adventure when she’s recruited to work alongside him to save the world as they try to revitalize their passionless marriage.

Hot off the news that Ncuti Gatwa will be the next actor to play the iconic time traveling Doctor, BBC’s “Doctor Who” has announced that former stars David Tennant and Catherine Tate will return to the series in some capacity next season. Their appearances will help mark the 60th anniversary of the sci-fi show, along with the return of Russell T Davies, who presided over some of the show’s most acclaimed seasons, as showrunner.

“It looks impossible,” Davies said about the news. “First, we announce a new Doctor, and then an old Doctor, along with the wonderful Donna, what on earth is happening? Maybe this is a missing story. Or a parallel world. Or a dream, or a trick, or a flashback. The only thing I can confirm is that it’s going to be spectacular, as two of our greatest stars reunite for the battle of a lifetime.
It sounds more like a nostalgic anniversary guest appearance than a meaningful recurring role. They need to be careful that they don't upset the new dude and he spits his dummy out.

A new Daredevil series is in development at Disney+, with Covert Affairs creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord attached to write and executive produce, sources confirmed to Deadline.

Fans have been wanting a new Daredevil series since Netflix’s Daredevil was canceled in 2018 after three seasons. Talk has ramped up recently following the appearance of Daredevil (Charlie Cox) in Spider-Man: No Way Home and main antagonist Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) in Disney+ series Hawkeye. Also adding to the project’s momentum was the recent move of all Marvel Netflix series, including Daredevil, to Disney+.

Marvel Television’s output was of variable quality to be sure, but the stuff they made for Netflix was generally at the upper end of the scale. And now Marvel TV has been wound down and the main studios operation is responsible for straight-to-TV material, with properly-considered tie-in to the MCU, I should think it will only get better. They have confirmed both Kingpin and Matt Murdock, as played by Vincent D’Onofrio and Charlie Cox, as fully MCU canon, but crucially we are several years on from the end of the last Netflix series and also post-blip. Kingpin was last seen on Netflix being taken back to prison but now he’s out and as powerful as ever. There are some good stories to be told, and now they have the prospect of other MCU characters showing up in them.

In the comics, Kate Bishop and Kingpin have an ongoing adversarial relationship and the fight sequence in the season finale of Hawkeye already showed how hard Kingpin is to kill.

He is a major recurring villain in Marvel and the chances of him not making a comeback are close to zero.

I have never read any Marvel comics, but from reading many articles on them, it seems to me that they have been around so long that events in them often contradict themselves over time, and the TV shows rarely reflect them more than loosely.

That’s true, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a distinct story environment from the comics. However, right from the outset it has often been possible to spot which comic book stories the movies are borrowing from. Sure, they don’t follow them slavishly but the film-makers are constantly dropping hints and Easter eggs which those sufficiently in-the-know can spot (I don’t claim to be one of those people!)

Given that they paid a cool $4 billion for the rights, they’re going to have to do more than just milk it. That cow will have to learn to sing and dance while juggling wheels of cheddar. And balancing on a high wire.

My understanding is that Amazon’s LotR series has already been green lit for its entire 5-season run. I wonder whether this is just a technical nod to proceed, as I’m pretty sure Amazon’s commitment is solid and would have no reason to change unless the early cuts of s1 were atrocious.

Daredevil: Born Again which is basically Daredevil Season 4 will be coming in 2024, and consist of 18 episodes.
Given this unusually high number for a Disney+ series, its not clear atm if this will be split into two blocks.

I'm not a big fan of horror, but as its Dean Devlin, I'll be giving it a look.

IMDB describes as being Drama-SciFi, as does Deadline.

Scooby Doo fans may want to check out Velma (on HBO Max, starting 12th Jan 2023).
The [adult animated] series details the origin story of Velma and the rest of the Mystery Inc [scooby] gang.
It does not, however, appear to feature Scooby Doo himself.

The Witcher Season 3 will return in the summer of 2023, it will be the last season with Henry Cavill.

Having suffered the first few episodes, I would say dont bother, its awful.

In other news, Showtime is being rebranded.
Its streaming content will move to Paramount+.
The cable channel itself will be renamed to 'Paramount+ with Showtime'.

After recently cancelling Titans & Doom Patrol, HBO have announced plans for some new DC based series.

Waller - abount Amanda Waller from the Suicide Squad films, and Peacemaker show.
It seems this is considered a spinoff of Peacemaker (apparenty Season 2 of that is now 'delayed').

Lanterns - about two Green Lanterns based on Earth.

Paradise Lost - about 'Themyscira', the home of the Amazons and the birthplace of Wonder Woman.

Booster Gold - a loser from the future uses technology to come back to the present day, and pretend to be a superhero.

There is hope for a 5th season of The Boys.
Eric Kripke recently tweeted "I'm here to prep & direct the Season 4 finale. No, not the series finale, there will be more!"

The final 6 episodes of The Nevers will be shown [streamed] on Tubi ...
[ No, Ive never heard of them either, apparently its a streaming service owned by Fox ].

Strange it is on the newsgroups torrents normally beat it. However for some reason it is encoded 30 frames instead of 24 so some might pick up on it. I do also it is 400ms out of sync but VLC can correct it. I am sure there will be other encodes.

Having finshed watching them, I was pretty underwhelmed.
It started life as a seeming good show, but just went weird in the end.

I cant say I'm disappointed it got cancelled.

As well as Kingpin, The Punisher is also returning in the revived Daredevil:Born Again series.
However, its also been confirmed that Karen & Foggy will not be returning.

A spinoff of The Flintones (called Bedrock) is being worked on at Fox.

Quote:

Bedrock catches up with the Flintstone family two decades later, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles embarking on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened new Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution harder than a swing from Bamm-Bamm’s club.
Lets hope this turns out better than the Sooby Doo spinoff, Velma, which was pretty dire.
