You are right half way down it says:

The scale of Lyons's investment is not revealed, but this is intended to be a commercial venture. PBS has gone down the road of signing up a pay deal with Sky, and would like another with Virgin Media, which means there will be no prospect of the channel appearing on Freeview.
Also I found this article on ''Mediaweek'' and it says:

Quote:

PBS is believed to be in discussions to broadcast on the Virgin Media platform.
Mediaweek also have got an ad up but it says ''Sky Channel 166 from November 1st''

I pay a subscription to receive my Sky channels and so I consider myself a Sky customer. Just not a Sky satellite customer.

I don't consider myself to be a SKY customer as set out in the T&C's of my contract with Virgin:

2c. All television services other than premium television services are provided to you by Virgin Media Ltd.

3a. Premium television services are provided to you by Virgin Media Entertainment.

"Premium channels provided by Virgin Media Entertainment are: Sky Movies Action & Adventure*, Sky Movies Classics,* Sky Movies Comedy*, Sky Movies Crime & Thriller*, Sky Movies Drama & Romance*, Sky Movies Family*, Sky Movies Indie*, Sky Movies Modern Greats*, Sky Movies Sci-Fi & Horror*, Sky Movies Premiere*, Sky Movies Premiere +1, Sky Movies Showcase*, Sky Sports 1*, Sky Sports 2*, Sky Sports 3, Sky Sports 4"

We are both consumers of SKY but not customers. Neither of us pay anything to SKY directly, and neither of us receive access to any SKY channel directly from SKY.

All you have to do is look back to 2007 when the SKY basic channels where withdrawn from Virgin. Did SKY consider us to be their customers back then? No they didn't.
