You heard it here first Mark, possibly, you may have heard it elsewhere

Saw some mutterings on Twitter earlier, I assumed he was either joining as a coach or we were so hard up for players to join that he was playing. If he is half as good a manager as he was a striker, then Stevenage in the Premier League within 10 years.

This was during his prime! In recent years his stamina and energy has clearly declined and he hasn't gone forward as much as kept this position a lot more than he used too. I think also in recent years what has put down to natural decline is actually the result of losing Alonso alongside him, a very underrated player before he went to Madrid.

That's what I am wondering. People talking of Arsenal as well as City and I can't see the logic. What on earth do we need another attacking midfielder for? I don't think Sterling is so good that he merits blowing transfer money on a position in which we're already strong. Might as well keep Walcott. You should only buy players in positions for which you're already well stocked if they are a big improvement in quality, like we did for Sanchez, not for what is arguably a minor upgrade on Walcott......

I find it very hard to judge players outside of Arsenal unless they're obviously very, very good. I don't watch enough football so only end up seeing the likes of Sterling a couple or so times a season. He hasn't made a big impression on me in that limited viewing.

I think he was just desperate to try and produce some magic once he's legs had gone and alonso wasn't under rated by me, I think Liverpool had the best centre midfield in Europe when him, Gerrard and mascerano played together

Arsenal caved in last time out when Theos contract was up for renewal what will it be this time? A major upgrade would be Reus. Having said that Theo departing would be a loss of pace even if you consider Gnabry as a replacement, Sterling would throw pace back in.

FFP will be milked at administration level. It's the 'in' thing for them at the governing bodies by that I mean money being poured in vs management of said monies. To do the sensible thing and rewrite FFP instead of making slight adjustments each year is pointless for them. What ever will they do instead. It all looks to be a bit like EU law contradicting or getting in the way of a member of the EU.

Bah! Oh well. A point on Sunday means 3rd for sure. A loss probably means 3rd unless United do something special at Hull.

Oh and congrats Dave42! I don't especially like or dislike Sunderland - they kind of just exist there doing not much - but the team didn't deserve relegation when there are teams like Newcastle around.

Congrats to Sunderland, l watched the game and they were brilliant. The only thing l didn't like was the old Arsenal dirty tricks.

Going down for the old free kick and Walcott having a go at the Lino as he didn't get a free kick.

Now all Sunderland have to do is keep Advocate

Manchester United are exploring the possibility of a summer move for German legend Bastian Schweinsteiger.

Sportsmail can reveal that United manager Louis van Gaal believes the Bayern Munich midfielder would bring experience and European know-how to the centre of his team’s midfield.

It is understood that talks have already taken place last month between United and go-betweens and that the Germany international would be open to a move.

Hes a bit old, but if we get him for less than £10 million which is what is being reported, it won't be a bad bit of business.

More Sterling Nonsense

Liverpool should make him play in the reserves for 2 years, see what he's worth to his agent then.

Too injury prone for my liking.

Good about time a club stood up to these greedy leeches.
