Man U now have to beat Chelsea and Southampton while Arsenal lose to Everton and Birmingham to have a chance of finishing second (there's the small matter of a goal difference of twelve, too). Otherwise the 'World's Biggest Club' finish third for the third time in four years. And Arsenal have had their best post-Premiership title season ever, incidentally (the previous two we had 78 points, we have between 80 and 86 this year). |

*cough*
Manchester United have won the FA Cup the most times (ten), followed by Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur (eight). Manchester United Eight Premiership titles in 12 years Arsene Wenger claiming three Premiership titles Nuff said :D :D :D |
Re: [Merged] Football talk
Digging up ancient history won't help you now. The 90s are as passe as Geri Halliwell and Noel Gallagher. You're beginning to sound like all those bitter Liverpool fans we've seen crouched in the corner of pubs for the last fifteen years banging on about Ian Rush, Kenny Dalglish and winning European Cups in the 70s and 80s.
8 in 12 is great, but two years ago it was 8 in 10. Recent history is not on United's side, and digging up the past runs the risk of highlighting exactly how far standards have slipped. |
