Is this a package change or temporary?

If temporary, does anyone know how long this will be for?

Maybe just for the Eurovision weekend? Normally just in XL.

It's not a channel that I watch either, I was asking for someone else.

But if this is for a box with only 1TB, we'll be in a worse position than having a V+ box with only 80 hours of SD and 20 hours HD recording space!

MB said there is different info coming in on this, well the 1tb is the current max on TiVo

Some of us are, dross to you but not to me. It would be boring if we all liked the same thing

New channels that just show repeats of what has already been on other channels are pretty pointless. What we really need is more content, not more channels. IMHO

True, but I do think we should at least have channels that are available on Freeview, like Spike.

Not a chance you will get 8 or 10, the reason that sky can have 10 tuners is there is hardware on the market, ie fbc tuners and unicable lnb's that are designed to do this, there is currently no hardware out there offering the same technology for cable, you will get 6 maximum with current tech and architecture, and that would be squeezing it, my guess would be record 4 watch a 5th.

With my two TiVos networked together - and since the dropping of the broadcast restrictions - I effectively have six tuners. I suppose in theory this number could increase by networking additional TiVos. Could not a new STB from Virgin Media/Liberty Global use something similar for those who want the extra recording capacity?

To be honest my Q Silver on the main box provides 4 recordable tuners and one for live TV and I can't see a time I'd ever use more.

I thought there was a 12 tuner cable box out there somewhere...I could be wrong, but I agree with MM...4/5 is probably the max you need.

I occasionally have 3 recording at one time which means I'm limited to on-demand or previous recordings, the 4th tuner would allow me to watch another channel. Doesn't happen very often though

There isn't a hard limit to how many tuners a cable box could have. You simply have to split and amplify the incoming signal as much as you need.
