Re: Top Gear will not be broadcast this Sunday

I would watch the "New Top Gear" only if Suzi Perry was on it.

Thats the reason why I stopped watching the Gadget Show

Those gleefully celebrating the end of JC on the Beeb might just want to pause a while since it's just been announced that he'll soon be guest hosting Have I Got News for You.

Evidently, having his Top Gear contract cancelled isn't quite the same as being expunged from the BBC and I dare say those who love to detest him will further dent his ego by boosting the show's audience...

:D

Depending on who the guests are I will be watching. Doubt there will be any current MP's on the series though due to the Election. Won't watch if Victoria 'I hate men looking at my boobs even when I wear cleavage revealing tops' Coren Mitchell is on the show. I know she is hosting one episode so that is one I won't watch.

Looking forward to seeing Clarkson again though, he should form a political party with Katie Hopkins. Stuff would soon get done with those 2 in charge.

I watch HIGNFY for the cutting satire and rapier like wit of Hislop and Merton. The guests either add something or nothing, but I wouldn't choose to switch off because of the "wrong" guest - not even for people whose careers are hanging on the coat-tails of their parents.

They have also allowed the Top Gear live shows to go ahead but now called Clarkson May and Hammond live, no Stig and no top gear names or footage to be shown.. If they had not allowed it to go ahead the BBC were in for a BIG bill from the tickets sales they would have had to refund and lawsuits from the organisers.

In other news Hammond and May did not renew there contracts with the BBC.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...d-spirits.html

Quote:

BBC Worldwide, which shares ownership rights of Top Gear, feared Clarson would vent his anger at his sacking during the live shows, the Sunday People reported.

But he has agreed to keep quiet on his sacking so the shows can go ahead, meaning fans who have already booked tickets, thought to number almost 100,000, will not be disappointed.

However the shows have been rebranded from Top Gear Live to Clarkson, Hammond and May Live.

http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-ra...shows-branding

Quote:

Top Gear Live makes more than £11m in revenues annually and this year’s global tour is understood to have sold more than 100,000 tickets.
That could have put a dent in the BBC's spending power

Thats is just Top Gear live so how much are they going to lose now Top Gear is effectively finished on TV as it will never reach the same viewing figures with Clarkson May and Hammond gone.

So the "Dream team" is available for some other lucky broadcaster to sign up.:)

I guess the Top Gear production staff will be redeployed by the BBC unless they follow the trio pied piper like.

Maybe the BBC will commission someone else to make Top Gear for them with suitable fees and rights. Then the old team can continue, the BBC gets the programme but no longer has to employ them.
